"not all it is"

Grey sludge.

That is what Miyata is reduced to as he sinks further into the giant vat of the stuff, and the worst thing about this stupid, stupid predicament is that Tamamori can't even move to try and save the idiot. Hasn’t been able to move in so long that he doesn't know if it's because of the chains keeping him immobile or himself.

"Toshiya," Tamamori whispers, voice hoarse, as Miyata soon disappears completely, and Tamamori feels cheated. The villains never get to the point where they actually carry out their threats. He doesn't think the feeling of utter helplessness is supposed to linger for this long. There's always a sense of hope, right? Somewhere, like the knowledge that someone is coming to help him, but he doesn't want anyone's help anymore because he has no use for it anymore.

It’s pointless.

It's all pointless.

Even when the Doctor finally shows up, Tamamori doesn't feel safe anymore because why should he feel safe with him? Why should he give him the benefit of a doubt when Miyata is gone and it's his fault. Stupid Doctor and his stupid TARDIS.

Stupid.

And even when the Doctor saves him, brings him back to the TARDIS, Tamamori just sits and waits and waits, waits for the Doctor to come up with something to help him, help Miyata, help this suffocating pain in his chest.

The Doctor just propels the machine to a new time.

"Do something," Tamamori mutters, pressing his palms into his face, voice cracking.

Whether it's to the Doctor or himself, he doesn't know.

* no worries, miyata will come back, rory style!

it's [livejournal.com profile] miquilis' turn! 8D
