Hand-Me-Downs

Miyata contemplates the moment you really become a senpai. Inspired by his JWeb entry :)

Their Juniors. What he thought of their Juniors. The question took some time to process.

They’re the senpai now. Miyata still can’t wrap his mind around that idea completely. Of course Kis-My-Ft2 had been regarded as a long established group before with more or less the oldest members around among the group of Juniors but still, it was different to actually be considered a real senpai. It was different to have debuted and to have reached the same standing as other groups, the groups they considered their senpai, the groups who seemed so far ahead of them.

Miyata suddenly felt how they’d suddenly taken another step on that ladder. Taken the next step after having debuted. It would probably seem like something silly to outsiders to consider such a thing as a big step but to a member of Johnny’s Entertainment it was.

You would become a casual senpai if you handed clothes or accessories to your juniors but you became a real senpai if your juniors actually asked you to give them your clothes.

“Tama, they asked if I could give them clothes,” Miyata looks at the other later in their changing room. “They want some of my clothes!”

Tamamori snorts softly, “They’re just pulling your leg.”

“How can you say that?” Miyata almost pouts a little bit at that.

“Your clothes,” Tamamori starts but he stops mid-sentence. Miyata blinks a bit but then notices how Tamamori seems to be looking him over and there’s a flicker of appreciation in the other’s eyes for a brief second. It makes Miyata’s lips curl up in a silly grin.

“Okay maybe the way you dress isn’t so bad,” Tamamori mutters, almost inaudibly.

Leaning over, Miyata asks, still grinning, “Well, go shopping with me on our next day off? If I want to give clothes away I need some new ones first. You can come over afterwards of course.”

“Who says I didn’t already make plans that day?” Tamamori crossed his arms in front of his chest but Miyata knew that was the other’s way of saying ‘yes’.

“I’ll come and pick you up at home. I know you like to sleep in. And well, you like it when I come and wake you up,” he grins.

Tamamori doesn’t deny it. He shoves at Miyata and grumbles, “Stop grinning, it’s obnoxious.”
