Jetsetter

wooot nano's been killing my plotbunnies so here, have a kinda strange and incoherent piece.

Breath of fresh air, indeed, Fujigaya muses as he steps off the plane.

Months ago, Kitayama had gone off to India on a televised sabbatical, and he had come back full of energy and completely rejuvenated.

"Travel really lets you relax!" he'd told the entire group. "It's a fantastic stress relief method."

He'd muttered And an even better wallet relief method under his breath then, but two months later he'd found himself looking through travel agency advertisements anyway. A little pleading with Boss Kitagawa later, he'd found himself with a plane ticket to a distant tropical country and the blessings of the company president.

Now, as he waits at the luggage carousel, watching for his battered suitcase, he wonders if the miraculous rejuvenation will magically happen the moment he walks out of the airport. But when he does, all that hits his face is a blast of warm, humid air and certainly no magical transformation.

He's a little let down, until he finds himself sleeping well for the first time in months. It's liberating to walk around a foreign city aimlessly, and cast all worries of paparazzi and work-related things aside for a while.

Kitayama is right, he realises as he walks down a sandy boardwalk on the fourth day, sunglasses on and sipping a cup of iced watermelon juice. Travel can work wonders.
