For the first time in a looooooong time... hi o/ Inspired by the fact that Yaracchi accidentally called Kishi 'Uchi-kun' at the lunchtime Shock performance on Monday.
---
"Him?" Ryota looked up at Yara as he knocked and entered the dressing room Ryota shared with Kishi. "Why did you mention him?"
Yara grimaced internally, having anticipated this the moment he realised he'd said the wrong name onstage. "I'm sorry, Yuta," he said, holding up one hand palm-sideways in a gesture of apology. "I wasn't thinking."
"No, senpai, it's fine," Kishi said, because it really wasn't a big deal. They were all exhausted, and for the others Shock had started hard on the heels of another energy-consuming show. Mistakes happened. Show must go on.
"Yeah, but--" Ryota said, clearly unwilling to drop the subject. "Why were you thinking about Uchi in the middle of the show, anyway?"
"I wasn't," came Yara's response as he sat down next to Kishi on the couch. "I just wasn't thinking, period. He sent me a 'break a leg' mail just before the show, that's all."
Ryota's eyes narrowed suspiciously, and Yara suddenly understood - and burst out laughing. "Wait, you're jealous?!" he spluttered.
"No," said Ryota, indignant. "Why would I be. It's just weird, that's all."
Yara raised his eyebrows. "Whatever you say."
"Yaracchi!"
Yara waved Ryota off, and ruffled Kishi's hair in the same movement. "I'm going back now," he announced, pushing himself up off the couch. "If you want to get lunch outside the theatre instead of eating bento, come find me."
Heading back to his dressing room, Yara thumbed a quick mail to Uchi.
You got me in trouble earlier. I said your name instead of Kishi-kun's during the show. Ooopsss (^^;;
Moments later, his screen lit up with a reply.
You were thinking of me ♥♥ I'm so happy! ♥
Are you in trouble with Ryota? ;;
Tell him not to be angry~♥
Yara entered his dressing room at the same time as his breath left his lips in a puff of amusement.
Don't flatter yourself. I was just thinking about how you're going to die again when it's your turn to be rival. (^_-)-☆
Again, another quick reply. Yara had mental images of Uchi idly checking his phone while he was supposed to be reviewing the script for his own upcoming play.
Take care of yourself, though.
Yara flopped down onto his couch, leaning heavily into the leopard-print cushion stuffed into the corner. It was genuinely good advice, at least.
"Yaracchi?"
The familiar voice made him look up: Ryota was standing at the entrance to his dressing room, one hand pushing aside the noren so that he could see past the curtain and into the room.
"Hey," Yara replied, slipping his phone into the pocket of his hoodie. "You come to take me up on lunch?"
Ryota shook his head but stepped further inside, and Yara saw that he was carrying two smallish boxes. "Yuta wanted to eat with Matsu, and I wondered… Well, if you're not too busy or whatever, we should just eat together in here. You 'n' me." He clenched his teeth together, jutting out his lower jaw in a set of assertion.
Yara tried to keep back a grin, and sat up properly on the couch. "Sure thing," he said. "C'mon over here and sit down."
