[Team 1] Carry a Piece of You With Me Always

I was going to write this so many hours ago, but then I got distracted by the Germany-Portugal game and I couldn't stop laughing because that simultaneously hilarious, painful and humiliating to watch the text commentary. It was hilarious, painful and humiliating through words I can't imagine what it was like actually watching the match.

In the meantime, here, have a Jongdae-centric ChenYin fic. I still haven't gotten over my ChenYin feels from over a week ago...

He wasn't sure he would survive the next three months knowing he would be separated from Liyin by hundreds and thousands of miles. On the one hand, he was excited by the idea that he would finally - with his own two eyes - see all those wonders he had only read about in books and glimpsed on their travels. But at the same time, he thought of how he would be leaving Liyin behind at the castle, left with the books she loved so much and very little actual company. Both his elder brothers, Minseok and Junmyeon, would be busy with the Council and Jongin would be busy with his studies.

But it was a journey he had to make - a rite of passage he had to complete - and so, with a heavy heart, he packed his travel bag with changes of clothes and toiletries.

(In a smaller, intricately designed handmade bag, he packed his writing set, because he'll be damned if he didn't bring something that would always remind him of Liyin with him. And he'll be doubly damned if he spent three months without at least writing to her. If he couldn't physically be by her side, at least he could keep her company through his words.)
