(In her defence, she could not have possibly known that the young man who had bounded up to Taekwoon was the youngest Prince of the realm, not with the way he had positively beamed at her betrothed like a puppy. All the same, she had kept her expression as neutral as possible, and when Taekwoon had bowed low to him, she had followed suit with a suitably deep curtsey, her eyes fixed on the tip of the expensively dressed man's shoes.)

Words could not express how incredibly grateful she was to Taekwoon for being so patient with her, so understanding of the fact that she knew very little of how his society functioned compared to the small country society she had grown up in. Everything was so different, so mind-boggling, and she had been so overwhelmed at first that the only thing she could do was smile demurely as she stood by Taekwoon's side and respond to question with a nod or a shake of her head.

But it has been weeks since she had been re-introduced to the ton and she was ready: ready to stand with her back straight and shoulders back; ready to meet the awed stares and scornful sneers of the interested debutantes and unsuccessful fortune-hunters; ready to navigate the shark-infested waters of high society.

This may or may not be related to the ChenYin Regency!AU I'm working on. But it's most likely separate.
