[Team Three] Just another Snow Man blurb
Since
talisa_ahn is skipping, I'm going next. Sorry about the lack of a sensible title but I couldn't really think of anything. orz
Adorable probably wouldn’t be one of the first words among the ones used to describe Iwamoto Hikaru if it came to the majority of people. For Sakuma, it was, though. Iwamoto was adorable. Very adorable. Of course the other was many other things as well - admirable, dependent, reliable and all that - but to Sakuma, the other was adorable before all of that.
“Hikaru went to borrow your hair iron again, didn’t he?” Fukazawa asks Abe and Sakuma as they cross paths during the show. “I wonder if there’s something wrong with mine?”
“Maybe it’s because mine’s newer?” Sakuma suggests.
Abe snorts softly and shakes his head. “It’s definitely not that. The fault with Fukka’s is probably that it doesn’t come with a certain extra attachment.”
“Mine doesn’t have anything fancy?” Sakuma blinks.
“But yours comes with a Sakuma Daisuke attached to it, who’ll do your hair for you if you let him. And make-up.” Abe points out helpfully. “Which are about the only two things Hikaru will let you do. And the hair part is actually pretty surprising.”
Sakuma’s mouth falls open and forms a big ‘O’ and he nods in understanding - partial understanding. “Aw, Hikaru. He always complains afterwards but then he leaves things as they are. That’s so cute!”
“Don’t let him hear that.” Fukazawa chuckles.
Things didn’t end there. In fact, that was only the tip of the iceberg really.
Tokyo was a city with millions of people living inside of it and it stretched across quite a large area as well and yet it could be surprisingly tiny. Sakuma frequently ran into people he knew. Today was no exception. He’d been shopping when a familiar voice had called out to him.
“I think he’s taking the whole having a ‘gap’ thing to a new level, don’t you think? On one side of his room you have the muscle training things, the bench press and weights and then suddenly there’s the toy house with the cute deer family.” She crosses her arms and frowns. “Is it weird that I do not think of it as weird? Is it because we’re family?”
Sakuma laughs softly. “I don’t think it’s weird either. I think it’s cute actually. Hikaru’s adorable side is showing more and more these days.” He grabs a box of pens and puts it into Iwamoto’s sister’s shopping basket. “Those are on me. You said you’re running out, right?”
“Thank you! You don’t have to, though but I know you’re going to insist. You’re cute, too, Sakuma-kun!” She smiles brightly. “In a different way than big brother, though.”
“Don’t let your big brother hear that, or I’m never going to hear the end of it.” Sakuma isn’t serious - because he knows Iwamoto knows - but it’s still fun to say it.
They continue their trip through the shop together, chatting, laughing and overall having fun until they part at the door after paying for their purchases.
Looking at his reflection and seeing dark hair again was something he hadn’t gotten used to again quite yet. It was a strange feeling. Sakuma had never changed his hair so drastically before so this was the first time he was experiencing something like that.
“Fluff attack!” A pair of hands is in his hair all of a sudden and fluffs up his curls. Sakuma jumps in surprise and then turns around to make a face at Iwamoto.
“Hikaru!”
The other grins and then slinks off, chuckling to himself as he does so. Sakuma pouts and then goes to sit with Watanabe, who is hiding is laugh behind a magazine.
“Your fault for leaving an opening.” The other says.
“I’m confiscating this candy.” Sakuma grabs the already half-empty bag he brought from his trip to the conbini a few minutes prior. It’s not like he’s mad at Iwamoto , or Watanabe for that matter but this is how things go in the Snow Man changing rooms usually.
Watanabe drops his magazine and makes eyes at him. “I agree, Hikaru is an evil prankster and deserves to be thoroughly punished.”
Laughing, Sakuma shoves at the other and puts the candy back onto the table. “Don’t eat all of it, seriously. I’m going to tell Ryota he needs to share his food with you so you eat something that doesn’t just consist of sugar.”
“But I don’t want to eat healthy things!” Watanabe pouts.
“I got junk food. It’s not healthy and full of sugar, so eat.” A new voice joins their conversation and the smell of fried food fills the room as Miyadate steps in with paper bags containing greasy goodness from the nearest fast food joint. “Here.” He put one of the bags down in front of Watanabe. “Eat. Or I’m telling Tackey.”
“But-”
“I got you a large coke as well.” Miyadate puts the bottle on the table. “But only if you eat.”
“Ryota~~!” Watanabe whines.
Sakuma decides to leave the pair alone - it’s easier for Miyadate to coax the other into eating when its just the two of them - and goes off in search of someone else to play with. With the exception of Abe. They parked him in a separate room earlier, so he could study in peace.
He pokes his head into one of the other rooms, expecting Fukazawa to be around somewhere but the other is nowhere to be found. Instead, Sakuma finds his way blocked when he turns around, about to look into the next room. Looking up, he finds Iwamoto looking down at him.
“Are you bored, Hikaru?” He asks.
“Gee, who told you that?” Iwamoto snorts and then nudges Sakuma further into the room before closing the door behind himself.
The way Iwamoto looks at him now, is different than before. And right now, the order of words Sakuma would use to describe the other changes quite drastically. Adorable moves down a couple of ranks and other words move up. And yet it rolls off his lips, just because he knows what kind of reaction the other has to it.
“I’ll show you just how ‘adorable’ I am.” Iwamoto growls and what happens then, has Sakuma unable to say anything else for a while.
When rehearsals resume, Sakuma is stretching by the mirror when Watanabe and Miyadate come and join him, while the other three are changing shoes or whatever. Sakuma feels eyes on him and looks over to his groupmates. Watanabe is frowning at him.
“Something the matter, Shota?”
“Didn’t you wear the shirt Hikaru is wearing now before? Wait, did you switch shirts? He’s totally wearing yours, isn’t he?” Watanabe looks at him and then Iwamoto and then him again. “How does that even work?” He blinks. Then his eyes wander over to Abe and Fukazawa. “Weren’t you two wearing different clothes as well? What the heck?”
Sakuma shoots Abe and Fukazawa an amused look and Iwamoto just waves things off.
“Clearly the lack of nutrients in your food is taking its toll on you, Shota. You should listen to Miya-chan and eat properly.” He scolds the other playfully.
Watanabe makes a face and punches Sakuma’s shoulder.
“Ow, hey! I didn’t do anything!” Sakuma whines.
“You were in punching distance.” Watanabe says, as if that would explain everything.
Miyadate huffs and pushes Watanabe down. “No more punching. And I agree with Hikaru. No buts, Shota. We seriously need to fix your malnutrition.”
