Hands aflame and eyes glowing bright orange in the early morning is probably not the sight Hikaru had expected to wake up to, but a panicked scream prompts him to open his eyes.

“Oh god, it's on fire!” He sees Hikaru not quite awake yet, and Taiyou flails, extends his arms toward his best friend in a pointless effort to keep his burning palms away from his person. “Hikaru, wake up! Oh my god, somebody help!”

The first thing in Hikaru's mind is shit, I'm in my parents' house, what the hell is this, closely followed by he's on fire literally, my best friend is on fire what do I do, with just a tiny hint of that's hot, no, bad pun, Hikaru, stop. Then Taiyou is shoving flaming wrists at him and there are sparks, because why not, it’s not like Taiyou is any good at maintaining composure. Hikaru freezes up in horror, any and all thoughts about his family’s house catching fire and burning to the ground are forgotten.
