"— I love you too much," Hakyeon cried, his words jarringly loud against the quiet of the room, and Taekwoon faltered in his step, whipping back to look at the other man, his best friend since childhood. Hakyeon had his face turned away but that didn't stop Taekwoon from noticing the tracks of tears streaming profusely down his face. "All this time, from behind, I've been watching you, silently supporting you, only wishing the best for you, and I thought was enough for me. Being your friend, being able to stand at your side, I thought that would be enough.

"But it hurts, Taekwoon," he whimpered, curling up on himself and pulling his legs towards his chest. "It hurts so much, to see you like this, and I don't know what to do."

He looked up then, his face puffy and eyes red from crying, and Taekwoon feels something in his chest tighten.
