[Team One] a flightful hope
ISTG throwing myself onto an in-service train track would be less painful than all these emotions I feel for Margaret Hale and John Thornton's (non-)relationship. As it is, I'm just stuck here with all these feels and nowhere to channel them so here, have a thing.
(And here, have a bonus thing if you're a fan of Richard Armitage.)
I choose you,
damagea!

Friendship from Margaret was all John could bring himself to count on, because that was all he had left to offer: friendship, and the last shreds of his dignity.
As the train rattled its way South — or was that his nerves fraying at the edges? — he leaned back against his seat and wondered. How would he be received when he arrived at Harley Street? What was he to say to her about his reduced position? What would she say in response?
He had so many questions but not enough answers, and all he could do now was hope. Hope that she still held the same fondness for Milton and its people.
