[Team SONIC] You are amazing, just the way you are
Guess what song came on on the radio...
This is a pretty GEN blurb, inspired partially by Iwamoto's and Abe's Myojo shoot.
Starting words from here.
The coffee is perfect. Abe smiles as his nose catches another whiff of the smell of the freshly brewed ‘magical morning elixir’. “As expected of Hikaru. This place is awesome.”
Iwamoto chuckles and puts down his own cup. “Isn’t it? It’s not just the coffee, right?”
“Yeah. The cafe itself is great as well.” Abe looks around and takes in the atmosphere. “Just the right place to come to before a long and busy day of practice.”
Nodding in agreement, Iwamoto takes another sip before he asks, “So, what’s the weather forecast for today, Abe-chan? Are we going to miss out on a nice autumn day?”
Laughing softly, Abe looks outside. “It might be nice out right now but by the time we’re finished tonight there is a chance of rain for this area. But you already knew that, since I see an umbrella hanging from the back of your chair.”
“It’s more fun to ask you.” Iwamoto laughs as well. Then his expression turns more serious and he fixes Abe with a look. “You’re amazing, you know?”
Abe blinks. “What brought this on suddenly? And you know, I’m not. Really.”
“See, that’s exactly what’s the problem.” Iwamoto makes a face. “You put yourself down so fast. You say you’re not good at acrobatics, you doubt your own abilities to do things during shows and you always find something wrong about something you did. I’m not saying that this is something bad in general, it’s not since we all learn from mistakes, but what I want to say is that you need some more confidence Abe-chan.” He pokes Abe’s chest. “Have some pride in what you do, what you can do. You know, the rest of us is really proud of you.” The smile returns to Iwamoto’s face, a gentler one this time though. “Snow Man wouldn’t be the same without you.”
There’s a pause while Abe just stares back at Iwamoto and tries to let the other’s words sink in. It takes a few moments but then he smiles sheepishly. “I’m bad at this thing.”
“Abe-chaaaan!” Iwamoto scolds.
A soft laugh escapes from Abe’s lips and he wraps his hands around the coffee cup more firmly. “Thank you, Hikaru.”
Sighing softly and crossing his arms in front of his chest Iwamoto remarks, “This is why you need Sakuma around you all the time. I think that’s why he wants to be around you, too. So that maybe some of his positive energy will rub off on you.” He gives Abe a stern look. “I think it’s a good idea. Please keep it up.”
“Yes sir!” Abe mock salutes and then laughs more earnestly.
“But even if you don’t change, we still like Abe-chan as you are because you’re Abe-chan. So don’t force yourself, alright? Maybe these things will happen gradually. And maybe it’s not something you can do all by yourself. So, we’re all here for you, okay?” Iwamoto continues. “If you feel like things get too tough to handle alone, we’re here. If you think you’re falling, let us catch you. If you need a light in the darkness, I’m sure Sakuma still has glow sticks left over.”
Abe cracks up at Iwamoto’s last comment so hard he doubles over on his chair.
“I’ll try to remember that.”
