[Failbot!Mod] So long, farewell!

Back in September 2013, the previous leader of Shiritori - the most excellent goodbeylover - signalled her intention to hand over the running of this writing community onto someone else, and having joined in 2012 and fallen in love with the game, I stepped in to continue it.

It's been a hectic two and some years since I began my tenure as leader of Shiritori - the coming and going of writers, the addition of a new game, etc. - but now I'm finding that I don't and will not have the time to devote to this as much as I would like. So, rather than dragging you all down in upcoming rounds by not being around, with this post I am officially tendering my resignation as leader of Shiritori.

As such, if anyone think they have the will and perseverance to run Shiritori, please state your intentions by leaving a comment in the section below!

Thanks for everything you've done, Joji! Honestly I'm a little sad I won't have an excuse to bug you as much going forward. I guess I could bug you just because~

I'm probably not the best choice but I am around more or less all the time and don't mind helping out, so I'd lead or co-lead if needed. Otherwise I'm still happy to be a team leader or be in charge of re-starting sonic or honestly it's whatever.

Thank you for all your hard work as shiritori mod. Despite calling yourself "failbot" I think you've done a lovely job during the short time I've been participating. ^_^ Good luck with your future endeavors~!

Since a few people (kira_shadow mousapelli alchemicink and perhaps more?) have expressed interest in leading/helping out, I have the small suggestion: what if instead of a single person responsible for everything, it was more of a team effort? That would put less leadership pressure on any one particular person and might make it easier to transition between people withdrawing and new people taking their place. Maybe something like a "captains' assembly"?

Thanks for all your hard work! You always got back to me so promptly and answered all of my annoying questions, so I've really appreciated the whole time you've been the mod here. ♥

I'd definitely be willing to help out if needed, or maybe co-mod with one or two others if that was possible? I've never participated in team sonic so I don't know much about that, but I really want to help keep shiritori running smoothly if I can!

I mean, I think it's best if one particular person is in charge of resetting every so often and being the person new people ask questions of.

I think what you're saying is basically the system we have now, where a couple people are in charge of a team instead of one person having to keep track of everybody posting.

But on the other hand if there's a particular task you don't want to do/feel comfortable doing, you could hand that off to one of us. Or have Sonic have it's own captain, or I don't know. Or if you need help sorting people into good groups since you're newer, that's fine too.

But really, it's whatever. I'll do anything you guys want~

I was thinking, the way exchanges have more than one mod, shiritori could be a mod-team of the team captains? It's just a possible suggestion. What are your roles as shiritori mod? start sonic, and reorganize teams for reshuffle, and assign new writers, and keep up the tags and sidebar I think? Please correct me if I'm missing one.

So apart from the team captains there could be a captain assigned to sonic, and then any of the captains could bring forth the need for a reshuffle and then one or two of the captains would take the job of assigning new people to teams, this would be a great time to re-nominate oneself as a captain, and then start again till next reshuffle. And maybe each of the captains would be responsible for their team members' tags? And to add a new fandom tag one of the captains could post a "new fandom tag" notice to which other captains would note as read and then the new tag would be added. Maybe? I'm just thinking of ideas ^^;

while I'd be okay with being the shiritori mod, I don't want to assume that I'm the best choice or that it necessarily needs to be me? so I suggested using the team method that's already in place, but your suggestion about having a designated "shiritori ambassador" and a designated person who's the reshuffler makes a lot of sense. sorry I didn't get a notif for this comment so I answered it differently below but it was just a possible suggestion.

if we had a
sonic captain (could also be a team captain)
the regular team captains
shiritori ambassador (could be one of the team captains)
reshuffler (could be one of the team captains)

that would be basically what we have right now, just distributing the mod responsibilities of shiritori ambassador and reshuffler

Well I think you as a choice is just fine since you're around as much or more than any of the rest of us :)

But yes, in general, I think asking if some of the team captains would be willing to do some other particular task is fine. I'd be willing to do that.

I'd be okay with taking care of the tags and being the welcome ambassador and being a regular team captain and even sonic captain and I could even do the reshuffling though I might need to ask for a bit of help since I don't know everyone, but I'd also be happy to have help.

That all sounds very overly complicated when it seems... like what I - and the previous leader - of Shiritori has been doing? XD Sorry if I'm being slow... U_U

I can see the soundness of splitting up the job and having a team, but it may... drag things out? That's my main concern. So if the circle is smaller, the quicker things can get done, imo... That's not excluding the team leaders that you'll appoint during each round.

How about I promote mousapelli and bluedreaming as co-mods? In terms of fandom, you'll have most/all of the fandoms covered.

lol well you know how much I do like my little captain's crown...anyway, yeah, if we had a good split for fandoms that would be nice since I barely do any Koreans or other stuff at all.

I'm fine with that, sure. We can sort it out amongst ourselves who is doing what. And really I'm perfectly happy doing work without being exactly the face of Shiritori, if you know what I mean, so Bluedreaming is welcome to be that.

Bluedreaming (it's Ansa, right? lol it's weird to call you your username), what's the best way to talk to you semi-regularly? Are you a twitter or chat person? Or is it email/lj messages? I can do whatever and I'm mousapelli basically everywhere (twitter, gchat, yahoo, aim, lj, etc etc).

Yup I'm ansa ^^ and I was going to say - I'm 100% okay with not being a face or anything either - my priority is just keeping the comm running smoothly ^^

I'm mostly Twitter (dm)/kkt/line but I can do email too ^^ I do have gchat and wechat and qq but don't use them much and lj is good but it goes straight to my email so it's kind of just an extra step where just email would be faster. Should I pm you my info?

I'm on twitter like all the time, so that's the best place to get my attention, but for sorting out some stuff that shouldn't be as public that's not ideal. Emails probably fine there, but chat might be more expedient if we're doing something specific like trying to work out rotation order specifically.
