[Team One] Falling in Love
In which Hoseok is a huge 2NE1 fanboy and Yoongi is a patient boyfriend.
His mouth feels dry. He’s been out in the cold weather for a good three hours now and really a steaming hot coffee could do wonders for his patience now.
Yoongi rolls his eyes as another batch of fangirls scream their heads off when they see a car zoom past them. A girl, about the same height as Yoongi, knocks him on the head, and murmurs a quick apology before she goes back to screaming her head off along with the others.
Beside Yoongi is Hoseok with a big grin on his face and the official 2NE1 light stick on his right hand. They’re in the parking lot of SBS where almost fangirls and fanboys of every idol group are waiting for their idols to go out. Evene in the middle of winter.
“Seok, maybe they left already…” Yoongi asks as he lets the heat of the heat pack on his coat pocket warm him up, even if just the slightest bit. He feels awkward being there – a guy in his late 20s wearing a suit and thinking of coffee – surrounded by, well, children (mostly female) who are equally as excited as his boyfriend is when it comes to their favorites.
“No! The fansite noona told me they just finished lunch so they’re about to come out in a few minutes!”
Hoseok’s voice is laced with dire excitement. His brown hair is disheveled from the chilly winter air and his mouth curved into a wide grin. Hoseok’s navy blue dress shirt and skinny jeans is a far favorable outfit than Yoongi’s and the latter briefly reprimands himself for donning a corporate outfit when his boyfriend asked him for a date.
In his defense, he always has to look good for his Hoseok. Call it insecurity, but being with a very pretty and delightful man like Hoseok can be daunting if you’re not really blessed in the physical aspect.
(No matter how many times Hoseok reassures Yoongi that he is handsome inside and out, Yoongi doesn’t believe it all that much, especially when he knows the fact that he curses worse than a sailor.)
“Are you tired, hyung?” Hoseok falls back from the outermost line of the crowd. Some of the girls’ vision follows him and Yoongi feels a familiar urge to snap at people who even has the slightest desire for his boyfriend. He glares at the women who quickly deflates and resumes their activity of waiting for their idols. “Just a few more minutes, but if you really want we can go already?”
Yoongi decorates a smile on his face. Hoseok must be really worried for him if he’s willing to let of the opportunity of meeting his dear ‘Dara noona’.
“You are treating me for a lunch buffet, okay?” He challenges his boyfriend as Hoseok merely grins at him and nods. “One with really really expensive beef! And seafood!”
Together, they wait for 2NE1 to come out in the chilly parking lot. But this time, it feels different. Hoseok has his arms protectively wrapped around Yoongi’s waist, the judging looks of others be damned. A serene laughter escapes his mouth when he hears Yoongi comment about how ‘these girls are just envious I have a pretty boyfriend’. Yoongi’s hands are on top of Hoseok’s with the latter’s 2NE1 light stick left to hang on his coat’s pocket.
Yoongi finally forgets the irritation from close contact with strangers and the need to down a liter of coffee just to calm himself.
After all, all he really needs is Hoseok.
Yoongi is in the middle of daydreaming that he’s feeding Hoseok a piece of sizzling meat when the commotion begins. One minute he’s resting his head on his boyfriend’s shoulder then the next he’s being roughly pushed forward by a couple of fans. There are loud yells of “DARA UNNI!!!”, “Bom noona!!!” and Yoongi already knows that the people they’re waiting for has finally arrived. He looks at Hoseok who seems to have turned into stone.
It reminds him of the first time he confessed to Hoseok; the younger man completely turned still with his mouth gaping, unable to make even just a single move.
Yoongi shakes Hoseok out of his thoughts. He pulls the 2NE1 light stick from his boyfriend’s coat and forces it on his hand.
“Seok-ah, your idols are here! You go cheer for them and own it, okay?!” It’s like he’s giving a peptalk to a kid. His face is serious and he pats Hoseok in the shoulders for good measure. Hoseok bites his lower lip and nods. Yoongi gives him a thumbs up and goes to the very back of the scene, where there are less people and less commotion.
Yoongi watches his boyfriend flail over his idols and realizes how, despite his boyfriend’s fascination for girl group idols and the high potential that their future dates would also be like this, he’s still fine with it.
As long as he sees Hoseok smile.
