[Team Sonic} Sick Day

Just wanted to briefly write about socks. What can I say? This ended up being really pointless.

Starting words from Christmas Morning

“I’ll guess I’ll have to unwrap you instead, since you went out to the store while I was sleeping,” Yuto said, clicking his tongue with disapproval while he unwrapped the three scarves Yamada had around his neck and face. Yamada hadn’t made it more than two steps inside before Yuto had flocked to him with concern.

“But I wanted snacks.” Yamada’s voice came through the fabric all muffled. He didn’t protest as Yuto peeled away the scarves followed by his thick coat and then the lighter jacket underneath and lastly, the toboggan protecting the top of his head. Even though Yuto was a little annoyed, he did think Yamada’s messy hat hair, sticking up in about twenty different directions, was adorable.

“It’s less than zero outside today,” Yuto chided. “You’ll just make your cold worse.”

In response, Yamada tried not to sniff his runny nose. He lasted a grand total of three seconds. “I’m getting better.”

“Okay,” Yuto said and patted Yamada on the top of his head. Since Yamada was being stubborn at the moment, Yuto disappeared to the kitchen and started making some tea. After a minute, he could hear the sound of sneezing and then a whiny “Yuuuuuttiiiii.”

He poked his head back out to see Yamada sitting on the floor in the process of removing his socks, having already managed to get his heavy boots off. But apparently three pairs of socks was too much for him.

“Help me?” Yamada asked with the most pitiful pout Yuto had ever seen.

It was cute, Yuto decided, how easily Yamada’s stubbornness could fade away when he was sick. He liked to pretend that he was tough and didn’t need anyone sometimes, but every now and then he’d let down those guards and let Yuto see through them.

Yuto sat down on the floor in front of Yamada and slowly pulled each sock off. “I like these argyle ones,” he said.

Yamada laughed, then coughed, then laughed again. “That’s because those are yours. I borrowed them.”

Yuto gave Yamada a knowing smirk. “Ah, that makes sense.” Once Yamada’s feet were bare, he reached a hand out and picked them both up off the floor. “Go make yourself comfortable somewhere and I will bring you some tea with honey. And maybe some hand sanitizer for myself.”

Yamada looked sort of pale but the grin he gave Yuto lit up his face. “I’ll try to keep my germs to myself.”
