[team two] rise and shine
I hate to skip again, but I still have no idea what I'm even doing. Excuse the lame entry. /___\
The best Christmas present she's ever gotten is right beside her, fast asleep. The early morning light shines through the small openings of their window and Sayuri is a little tempted to open the curtains the whole way, but she's enjoying this moment with him—the way slivers of sunlight reflect on his pale chest, and the occasional upward curve of his lips in a contented sigh. She watches as his chest rises slowly, breathing in and out, relaxed and fully comfortable where he is. This unguarded Maya is such a rare but not at all unpleasant sight, and Sayuri savors it, committing every detail to memory.
"Take a picture, it'll last longer," Satoshi's amused tone cuts through Sayuri's thoughts, and she jerks in surprise. The movement causes Maya to stir, cracking an eye open to find what caused the interruption, only to close it again when sunlight directly shines at him.
"Satoshi, stoooooooooop it," Maya whines in the most pitiful tone he can manage. He pulls the blanket over his eyes, and Satoshi just laughs from where he stands.
Her annoyance at Satoshi ebbs away, replaced by amusement as she watches how they interact. The quick-tempered person that Sayuri always sees at school is nowhere to be found, and she finds more of this pure, unguarded, and vulnerable side of Maya because Satoshi is around. It doesn't stop her from throwing a pillow at Satoshi's face anyway, and the sound as her target hits home is the most satisfying yet.
Sayuri feels Maya's lips on hers. "Good morning, love."
I'm so sorry for the delay. It's all yours now, Eru.
