[Team two] the basics
Anyone else excited for the new Fruits Basket anime happening soon? Just me? Anyway, I'm still trying to write this post-canon fic. Maybe it'll turn into something good eventually lol.
Right when Kyo thinks he's got this normal life thing figured out, he gets thrown a curve ball. He sighs from the doorway, looking out at the room full of people waiting for him.
Okay so maybe this isn't a "curveball" so much as just an actual job, but still. It's something Kyo has to get used to. He supposes he shouldn't have expected everything to be easy once the curse was gone. But where's that pit of anxiety coming from?
What would Tohru do on her first day on the job, he wonders to himself. Her smiling face instantly appears in his mind, full of the determination she always has when trying to tackle a difficult task. He remembers her words of encouragement from earlier this morning. Words to remind him that he's very qualified to do this job.
He looks out again at the room full of young kids, waiting for their new teacher to begin their first martial arts class. For a moment, he thinks back to the day he had his first lesson with Shishou. He remembers that small spark of joy and excitement. It was a spark that got buried in the years to follow, but he's recovered it now.
It's a new day.
He takes a deep breath and steps into the room, letting the chatter die down as the children turn their eyes on him.
"Okay, let's start with the basics."
