[team three] under the darkened skies

I'm sorry this is late. It's been a really draining few days (and it continues to be so). But still, writing a short thing because I don't want to skip. /__\

"This isn't fair," Tamamori grumbles. He's gliding by the river, on the path to the home he shared with Miyata, but right now he's taking the opposite direction.

Watching Miyata grieve has become unbearable, the agony in the other man's eyes feel like knives stabbing into his very soul, and the pain is beginning to feel like his own. Seeing Miyata cry is the worst, because he knows the reason why. His biggest frustration is the fact that can't even wipe Miyata's tears away, no matter how hard he wishes he could.

He tries to reach for Miyata, but the plane of existence that separates them is too difficult to cross, and the other man is too sad to take notice of him. He kicks at a randomly scattered can, but his foot simply passes through the metal. It makes him even angrier, and he kicks at it again. This time, the can gives a little wiggle, and the anger and frustration he feels gives way to exhaustion.

Tamamori flops onto his back, chest rising and falling heavily despite no longer having the need to breathe. He stays on his back for quite some time, contemplating this little achievement. A spark of hope begins to bloom in his heart.

Let me return the happiness you've always given me.

"Even if it's only for less than a second, let me touch your cheek softly."

Stole lines from Hoshi ni Negai wo, as translated by [livejournal.com profile] chiseen. The song is wonderful and truly heartbreaking.
It's yours, [livejournal.com profile] kira_shadow. Really sorry for holding you up.
