[team sonic] all this dirt/set myself free
First words from 5 times Koji opened a door and did not find what he expected behind it.
Hoping we can still keep sonic going! I’m scheduling this post for the last eligible moment, both to give sonic more time and also to hopefully allow someone else to post first, so my posts aren’t too close together. I think my apologies are getting repetitive, so here’s an extra apology about that.

“They said that pineapple bacon is the most popular flavour?” Patrick asks around his mouthful of pizza, nose wrinkling. Matt lets his legs dangle over the side of the washing machine, feeling the muffled hum as the drum spins.
“That's what the person at the counter said,” he says, meticulously picking the pineapple off his slice. “Or maybe they were just trying to get rid of it.” Matt sneaks another glance at Patrick’s face and then has to laugh at the way his face is slowly wrinkling in disgust.
“I'm pretty sure I prefer anchovies,” Patrick says, giving up on the slice and setting it, half-consumed, back into the box. “I feel bad about wasting it, though.”
Matt waves his hand in the vague direction of the box, finally taking a bite now that his slice is pineapple-free. There's still a hint of sweetness, but it's not bad, all things considered. Anyway, food is food.
“I'll eat it,” he says, and pretends not to notice the way Patrick is looking at him. If he doesn't acknowledge it, it doesn't count, right?
