[Team one] some assembly required
Another weird Elementary snippet :D
"None for you," Sherlock says as he carefully sets a plain cardboard box on the empty desk next to Marcus. "These are for something very important."
He looks up from his paperwork with a disinterested look. "I didn't want any of... whatever you have in there." But he can't stop himself from one curious glance at the contents inside.
"Are those bones?"
"From a raccoon, yes," Sherlock nods as he begins emptying the box piece by piece.
Marcus had come into the office today to catch up on some paperwork while he didn't have a case to work on. He hadn't expected to see Sherlock.
"Aren't you supposed to have the day off?" Marcus asks.
"Aren't you?" the consultant pointedly replies.
Marcus turns back to his papers. "Touché."
After several minutes of listening to the bones rattling around as Sherlock tries to assemble them vaguely into their previous raccoon-ish shape, Marcus gives up on trying to concentrate. He spins around in his chair to face Sherlock.
"Maybe you should pick up some hobbies instead of working on cases all the time," he suggests, his voice perhaps a little more exasperated than he meant it to sound.
"Oh this isn't for a case," Sherlock replies without hesitation. "I'm playing an April fool's joke on the new lieutenant who made those snide remarks about Watson last week."
Marcus knows exactly who Sherlock is referring to. He hadn't liked the guy since he transferred to their precinct a month ago. The guy had no respect for anyone and no regard for personal space.
"Hand me that vertebra," Marcus says, reaching his hand out. "I'll help."
Here ya go
