“Ninjas were apparently big on arson, did you know that?” Chanyeol pushes the nosepiece of his glasses up with his index finger as he glances up from his phone. Jongin squints as he meets his gaze.

“Yeah, that’s one of the reasons that castles had courtyards covered in gravel. At least that’s what I read.” Jongin shifts his hips further back in the seat of his favorite green armchair, where he’s slouched over a fantasy novel propped in his lap. “Why are you reading about ninjas?”

“Kyungsoo is thinking of doing a drama about assassins.” Chanyeol shrugs, and his oversized T-shirt rumples at the shoulders. “Like modern day assassins. But I’m helping him research the origins of this stuff.”

“Oh yeah,” Jongin smirks, eyes focused on his book as he turns the page, “sounds like a perfect role for a guy who can sneak up on you and kill with one look.”
