[Team one] meet the competition
So I'm writing this dumb fic for tdbk au week where Bakugou and Todoroki team up for an intergalactic space race. Here's an unfinished snippet of it
"Okay, there are plenty of familiar faces this year," Kirishima begins, tapping the keyboard to pull the images up on the screen. With only one hand available at the moment, Sero quickly nudges him out of the way to take over.
Kirishima continues with a quick rundown of each racer and an overview of their ship specs. Bakugou nods along, already familiar with most of them from previous races. He glances over to Todoroki who is absorbing all the info with a typical blank look on his face.
Kirishima continues to the next slide. "And here we have-"
"Deku," Bakugou growls, momentarily forgetting all about Todoroki. He clenches his fists as Kirishima continues talking as if he hadn't spoken.
"Midoriya Izuku," he clarifies for Todoroki. "Sponsored by All Might Manufacturing. He'll be joined by his copilots..."
"Round Face and Four Eyes."
Kirishima shakes his head as if to silently scold him for being too predictable. "Uraraka Ochako and Iida Tenya." Their smiling faces pop up on the screen.
"Do you have unoriginal nicknames for everyone you meet?" Todoroki asks him.
Bakugou glares instead of dignifying that with an answer.
"He calls me Raccoon Eyes, so yes," Ashido answers herself with a chuckle.
"But back to the race," Kirishima interjects before Bakugou has the chance to let off a small explosion in Ashido's face. "Uh, you're not gonna like this last one..."
"Who could be worse than that damn nerd?" he grumbles.
"Shigaraki and the League of Villains."
"That hand bastard!" Bakugou feels like he's about to explode with rage and not because of his quirk.
Sero brings their pictures up on the screen, and as usual, Shigaraki has his face obscured by a severed hand attached over his features.
"Hand bastard?" Todoroki repeats quietly.
"Don't you say a word about the nickname," he warns before Todoroki has a chance to say anything else.
Todoroki wisely decides to stay on topic. "So what's so bad about these guys?"
