Ace Attorney, Miles Edgeworth (& Manfred von Karma), 100 words. Last words: He raises a shaky fist, and knocks.
His heart should be beating steady, with the sort of regularity one could set their watch by. But instead it thrums erratically, like the waves crashing against the shore in a thunderstorm. Miles imagines himself in its centre, at peace despite the chaos all around. Just like his mentor had taught him.
It helps, but only slightly.
Miles had been raised to be a winner, carefully crafted in the image of Manfred von Karma. Any defects were to be obscured, removed, eliminated. That his first case had come to this… it was inexcusable.
