[Team four] a lady wearing hidden armor walks into a bar

Was on a bnha writing break, but decided to try a little bit of a momojirou fantasy au here. I was half asleep when writing, so it probably doesn't make much sense. I'll figure it out later!

Bnha, g-rated, very short

“You aren't from around here, are you?" Kyouka asks, watching the way the woman on the other side of the bar tenses.

Bingo.

"What makes you think that?" the woman replies. She fidgets with her hands for a moment before deciding to reach back and adjust her ponytail. Like she's making sure all her long locks of dark hair will stay securely in place.

Kyouka can't hide a little pleased smirk on her face -- a bad habit she's picked up from Kaminari over the years -- and answers, "The armor hidden under your cloak. Not many people wear that around here."

There is a long silence before the woman says quietly, "well, you never know when you may need it while traveling."

It's not an answer. Not really. Just deflecting as she reminds Kyouka that she's only stopped into this tavern for a quick meal.

So Kyouka lets it drop and busies herself with serving up the promised food and drink. This stranger can keep her secrets for now.

Still, Kyouka remains curious about something else too.

"What's your name, by the way?" she asks.

The woman picks up the utensils as though they are delicate fine china and not just standard old pub fare. She pokes at her plate before answering.

"Momo."

"Momo," Kyouka repeats, letting the syllables roll off her tongue. It's a cute name. Might even be her real one. "Nice to meet you. You can call me Jirou."

Momo nods politely, as if out of habit, but the introduction puts a small, genuine smile on her face too.

It's a shame Kyouka wipes that smile away a moment later when she speaks again.

"Lately, I've been seeing a lot of new people around here."

Up next is scytale!
