[Team two] A drabble for the Archive AU
Ok this was a tough round. It took a week and I've got next to nothing to show. It happens sometimes, I guess. Continuing the Archive AU feat. Hokuto and Kochi, G, 220 words.
Me: [Having fun!!!]
Juri: [Really???]
Me: [No.]
Hokuto tapped send and pushed his phone back into his pocket, hastening his steps so he wouldn’t get too far behind Kochi.
The archive floors were two long, bleak underground corridors of doors. All the office rooms were on the upper floor with a small room that Kochi called the coffee kitchen. Apparently running up aboveground for the sake of a fifteen-minute break wasn’t worth it. But at least they could have as much free coffee as they wanted, had been Kochi’s bright remark. There were archival storerooms at the both ends of the upper floor, yet they took the elevator to the lower floor rooms first.
“The Diplomatic Archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs collects, classifies, and preserves Japan’s diplomatic records and makes them available to the public for perusal,” Kochi explained, walking through the first storeroom and sounding like he was reciting an information leaflet by heart. “We’ve got documents starting from the last decades of the Tokugawa period to the end of the second world war, and some post-war documents too, if they have historic value for the Diplomatic Archives.”
“Where’s all the post-war stuff?” Hokuto asked before he could stop himself.
“In another archive. We can take the train there someday next week just so you’ll see it.”
