[Team four] searching for something
I guess I'm just starting another YYH fic 😅
YYH, g-rated, less than 200 words
Kurama breathes deeply, taking in the all the familiar smells of the forest surrounding him. The earthy scent of dirt under his feet mixed with the familiar tree bark and leaves. There's even a wisp of something floral mixed in too. It's his centuries of experience that give him the ability to match the scents with each plant easily.
So he smiles when he catches the barest hint of the herb he's been searching for, buried somewhere in the underbrush nearby.
"Good job, Hiei," he turns to his companion, perched on a branch overhead. "You found it."
He looks up to see Hiei wearing his usual scowl.
"Did you doubt me?"
"Of course not," Kurama answers before he reaches down to harvest what he needs. "But plants are my forte, not yours, so I didn't expect success so quickly."
"You described it well enough."
Hiei drops down from the tree and lands behind him. He pretends to be uninterested, but it's obvious he's trying to catch a glimpse of Kurama as he works.
