(no subject)

I'm sorry for those of you who will be lost on the Final Fantasy part, but I still like this idea, and I still don't know where I'm really going with it yet. I hope there's enough KitaFuji in there to make people happy.

Fight or flee, those were his only two options it seemed like at first, not that he was too fond of either.  Because these strangers, these people, there seemed to be something about them that he just couldn't put his finger on. And it was starting to get his curiosity running.

Meanwhile, in a small cafe hidden downtown, Fujigaya was sitting at a table, secluded in a back corner, looking at his cell phone for the umpteenth time in five minutes. "Where the hell is he?" He mumbled out loud to nobody in particular. He dialed an all too familiar number, it rang and rang with no answer until the voice mail came on. "Kitayama Hiromitsu, just where the hell are you anyway? I've called you how many times now? I'm waiting at our usual place. You said you would be here..." he paused to look at his watch, "20 minutes ago, and...." there as a 'beep beep beep' to let him know that his time was out for the message. He sighed and huffed as he put his phone back on the table, looking towards the door, hoping to see a familiar face walk in the door. He was used to Kitayama being late, but he had already accounted for that time and he was still late. Worry started to show on his face, as he began to get even more concerned for his boyfriend.

Kitayama watched as the two called Snow and Lightning talked quietly to each other. He still wanted to run away, but to where? It looked like the middle of nowhere everywhere he looked. He didn't see any signs of civilization anywhere, and not wanting to be alone, it seemed like his choices were being made for him. After what seemed to be an eternity of silence, the group of six gathered around him. "So, Kitayama was it?" Lightning started. "Just what are you doing here anyway?"
"I'm not sure...." There was a moments pause then, "I was getting ready for a lunch date and then I must have blacked out or something and I woke up and I was here. I'm a bit confused myself. Just what are you guys doing out here anyway?"
"That's a long story." Snow answered with a bit of a laugh.
"How about just the short version then?" Kitayama glared at him. This was not the type of situation to be laughing in.
"You probably don't want to know. But since you asked, and well, it's not like you can run and tell anybody about it, we're fighting to bring down the fal'Cie so we can save Cocoon."
Kitayama looked at them with a look of utmost shock and confusion that he's ever given anybody. And that includes that one time when Fujigaya first asked him out. "Wait, what?" He managed to get out.
Lightning sighed, she figured this was the response she was going to get. Well, actually it was better than what she expected. She didn't think he would be able to form any coherent words for a while. Though, if you asked her, this was all pointless and wasting her time. She had things to do, and it wasn't like they had a lot of time left. She absently raised her hand over her chest as she sighed. "Look, kid."
Kitayama glared at her again. "I'm not a kid."
"You look like one to me." She started, completely ignoring his look of indignation. She was used to dealing with Snow on a regular basis after all. "But, whatever, the thing is, we're a bit pressed for time, so we need to get going now."
Kitayama grabbed her arm quickly and held on a bit too tightly if the look he was getting in return said anything. "You're not going to just leave me are you?" He was actually quite scared. He didn't know where he was, or how to get back. "Please?" It was barely audible, but it was there, a small plea of help.
The two younger ones came over, each grabbing one of Kitayama's hands. It surprised him at first, he had forgotten for a moment that there were other people there. Other people that still hadn't even spoken yet. But he looked from the young boy on his right, to the young girl on his left. They were both smiling at him, trying to reassure him. "We won't leave you." The girl said. "Isn't that right Light?" The boy said. Lightning huffed and turned away from them. "Do whatever you want, but if we all get caught or turn into l'Cie it's not my fault."
Well, maybe things are starting to look up.
