Just like the Movies (but better)
Around and around they go, chasing each other in oblique loops around the arena.
"You can't catch me!" Senga howls with glee, taking one hand off his steering controls to wave a peace sign up and down in an attempt to catch Nikaido's eye.
"We'll see about that!" Nikaido counters, grinning as he accelerates his vehicle to take after Senga again.
It had been something of a whim - there was empty space and they'd felt like racing during break, but it had degenerated into a mad car chase, the likes of which would only be replicated in high-budget Hollywood films.
(Or at least, that's how they see their chases - Hollywood film equals with all of the adrenaline and none of the budget or pyrotechnics.)
Senga takes his eyes off where he's going to turn back and pull a face at Nikaido, goading his opponent into trying to catch up to him with a vengeance. Unfortunately he doesn't look where he's going in the process, so when he finally turns his head back and sees the obstacle looming right in front of him he quickly puts his foot down, the soles screeching against the floor as he brings his vehicle to an emergency stop.
Nikaido does the same to prevent crashing into him and disembarks, a scowl on his face.
"Clumsy gorilla," he snipes, though there isn't much real heat behind the jibe. Senga grins sheepishly in return.
"Ahem."
Someone clears their throat, and the two turn back to see Fujigaya looking at them from backstage with eyebrows raised.
"Now that you're done," he says grumpily, "break's been over for a while - the cameramen would like their camera trolleys back so Shokura filming can actually start."
