[Team 1] Lost in Translation

Yuki = Jesse
Makoto = Yugo
At least things wouldn’t be awkward if things went wrong. If the other didn’t understand what he was saying he could just joke about it or tell him it was something completely different.
Yuki nodded to himself. Yeah, this was a good plan.
“Earth to Yuki, are you still here?” Makoto waved his hand back and forth in front of the other’s face. “You totally spaced out on me here.”
“Sorry,” Yuki apologized and then looked down at his friend, his partner. “Hey Makoto,” he started in English. “I really like you, you know?”
The other blinked at him and raised an eyebrow, the sure sign that Makoto was trying to comprehend what the hell Yuki had just told him.
“Ah, nevermind,” Yuki switched back to Japanese and tried to laugh it off.
Makoto punched the other in the shoulder, “The fuck, Yuki! You even confess to people in English! Do it in Japanese next time, will you?”
Yuki froze for a moment and then looked at Makoto, “Wait, you totally understood what I was saying now! Otherwise you wouldn’t have known it was a confession!”
Looking down, Makoto muttered, “I might have actually tried to study some English. Just for you.”
Grinning from ear to ear, Yuki grabbed the other and asked, “Can I kiss you?” in English of course.
Makoto punched the other again but leaned up a little, “Iessu?” even the one word sounded horribly accented but Yuki thought it was rather endearing.
