Blank as Glass
oooh hard starting word this time haha. not sure if it might be partially due to nano sucking me dry of inspiration (but then again i've been slacking on nano so maybe not)
warning for incoherency haha D:
Mind death, they called it. Rotting of the brain, of the consciousness, of the soul. In a few days his Yuta would become nothing more than a living, breathing body, and nothing more. A reanimated corpse, with no ability to be who he once was, only able to stare blankly ahead with soulless eyes. Sure, his body was completely unscathed, and worked perfectly fine, but he was going to become, in all honestly, nothing more than a human robot.
And there was absolutely nothing the doctors could do to prevent it.
"I'll be okay, Toshiya," Yuta assured him with a weak smile. "It'll just be like going to sleep."
Toshiya bit his lip very hard to stop himself from breaking down in a fit of convulsive tears.
"Find your own happiness after me," continued Yuta, eyes beginning to unfocus, looking at the ceiling instead of at him. "Don't...don't live the rest of your life missing me."
"But I will," Toshiya whispered forlornly. "I will."
"Don't," replied Yuta, and refused to say any more.
Toshiya held Yuta's hand in the silence, a thousand words welling up on the tip of his tongue itching to be said, but he pressed his lips together in a thin line and swallowed all of them back, one by one.
