"Autopilot," Fujigaya calls, giving his instrument panel one last perfunctory look, checking that all the controls and settings are in order, "Take over the last route for me, and redirect any incoming transmissions to Channel Three. I'm going to take a break."

The small screen right in the middle of the ship's panel blinks to life. "But Flight Commander Kitayama says specifically that I'm not to fly your shorter routes for you, because I help you too much and it makes you lazy."

Fujigaya scowls. "Who cares what Kitayama says, Wataru please? I'm really tired and I want a bath, so please take over?"

"But we've only been flying for an hour," Wataru says rather obstinately. "You don't need a break."

Sometimes, Fujigaya thinks that his ship's autopilot deliberately plays hard to get. It doesn't help that sometimes Commander Kitayama flies with Wataru, too, and Kitayama gives Wataru all kinds of the weirdest ideas ever to torment Fujigaya with, because Kitayama thinks it's funny, and Wataru has no other way of getting back at Fujigaya for leaving his empty ramen cups all over the cockpit (Fujigaya's never operated an autopilot who was so inanely fixated on tidiness). Like that one time Wataru reset all the flight controls to default because Fujigaya spilled half a mug of coffee all over the dashboard and was too lazy to immediately wipe up the resultant mess. But Wataru always gives in in the end and lets Fujigaya have his way, so Fujigaya doesn't mind.

"Come on, Wataru, please?" Fujigaya rests his chin on top of the panel, lips pursed in a pout.

Wataru sighs, a low, electronic whirring as the autopilot system reluctantly turns on. "The things I do for you," the disembodied voice says almost affectionately. "Go take a nap, I'll wake you when we have to land."

"Thanks, Wataru!" Fujigaya gratefully pets his dashboard. "I'll be back in an hour!"
