"The advantages of dating…" it comes out a soft whisper laced with mild curiosity, and Ryo nearly jumps from his perch on the couch, the page from which the whispered words were read quickly covered up by shutting his battered (though Ryo would argue it’s only well-worn) yellow notebook. He locks gazes with Ueda when he turns toward the source of the sound, glaring at the smirk planted on the other man's face.
"Sap," Ueda teases.
"Well, hello to you, too," Ryo snaps back, holding a hand to his chest to calm his surprise. Ueda's smirk softens into a small smile and he takes the other half of Ryo's couch, hands busy making space on the cluttered coffee table for the beer and take-out he brought. Ueda then leans into Ryo's space, reaching for the guitar perched on the side and playing a random tune. It's that moment that Ryo opens the notebook to an entirely different page, taking note and making adjustments on Ueda's improvisation.
They play a movie after that, and the credits are rolling when Ueda's head lands on Ryo's shoulder. Ryo smiles, standing up to carefully lay Ueda and fixing the blanket over him. He picks up the notebook and goes back to the page he was on while he waited for Ueda. The top reads The advantages of dating someone from the same industry.
Ryo adds 'spending the night away from the heat of the stage lights, being warmed only by each other's proximity.' to the list.
