[Team 1] drink
Bleh, because I needed to write something.
The card table is lush and green as an open plain, almost picturesque enough to let Ryo lose all his money with dignity. Chips scatter across the table like plastic clouds, floating just out of reach, and Ryo tips his head back to finish the last of his whiskey, ice clattering dully against his lips.
When his vision swirls back to ground level, he catches the dealer's eye, and the dealer gives the empty glass a significant look. Ryo knows the rules; he needs to keep putting money on the table if he wants another glass. He'd long lost track of which was the means and which was the end, but it ultimately doesn't make a difference.
Ryo's lucky chip is somewhere in his pants pocket, between a crinkled gum wrapper and the key to an apartment he can no longer afford. Its ridges catch against Ryo's fingers, and he rubs his thumb against the edge for good luck.
Nodding heavily at the dealer, he smacks the chip on the table and asks for another drink.
un_sanzo, go~
