[Team 2] Elevated Position
Reader had not been a position Shige had been planning on becoming, but a reader he had become, rising quickly in rank ahead of some of the older senior lecturers, such as Yamashita and his best friend Koyama, and now he basically acted in part as Professor Sakurai's lackey but with extra duties of his own.
He's not actually sure how he gotten to this point, actually.
Sure, he had written a few papers that had reached international distinguishment, and his classes weren't unpopular, nor did anyone flop any of his classes. (In fact, the average result from his classes was high above the general average of the department.) But other than that...
Oh well, there was no point dwelling too much on this, he supposed: a final decision had been made and he was where he was now, there's no going back, the only way is forward.
(And he now he could get back at Tegoshi for all those pranks he had pulled before and lord his seniority over the only slightly younger man.)
A/N: A reader is a really strange position that's lower than a professor but higher than a senior lecturer and people are only given this position if they've done exceptional work on the international field - apparently.
