“Nothing.” Ohkura responds when asked in regard to his plans for the following day off — and there are no plans because nothing is all Ohkura wants to do.
Ohkura spends the day at home alone, catches up on dramas with heart secretly soaring at romantic final scenes while the air of the apartment starts to smell earthy fresh and warm by load after load of clothes from the dryer.
He takes an hour to decide what to cook for dinner and then another two meandering around local market shops picking out the perfect ingredients. The meal and the whole day go deliciously exactly how Ohkura wants — all until suddenly at midnight Ohkura is struck hard by boredom and insomnia. He wants to call Maru just to have someone to make him laugh or regrets no accepting Yasu’s offer to go shopping or inviting Kitayama to join him for dinner. It’s not too late and he could call Nino or Junno to meet for drinks but quiet laziness holds him back.
