[Team 1] Endless Road
Well, it's not porn.
It might cause some trouble tomorrow, but right now he couldn’t agree more. He patted Hashimoto's scaly hide. “Lets go.” He clambered up and settled in his usual place right behind the dragon's wingjoints.
As soon as Totsuka was in place, Hashimoto launched himself into the air, his large wings beating quickly to gain some distance from the camp. The day was too beautiful to sit around doing nothing much.
“Where to?” Hashimoto asked, enjoying the sun on his wings and the wind against his face.
Totsuka shook his head, even though he knew Hashimoto couldn't see it. “Wherever you want.” The sky was a light pink in all directions, a perfect summer day. It was times like this, just the two of them in an endless sky, that made it all worth it.
The fast, even beat of Hashimoto's wings ate the miles as if they were nothing, the landscape changing below almost unnoticed. Fields, lakes, mountains, forests, what did it all matter when the two of them were together?
They took a short rest at nightfall, just a quick bath in an icy cold mountain lake. Then they were off again, flying through the night, the dull, greenish light of the thirteen moons, nearly all of them full, giving the night an almost eerie atmosphere.
Hashimoto could fly in his sleep, gliding on air currents without beating his wings more than once in half an hour, and so far away from the ocean, from any danger, Totsuka's human eyes were more than adequate to stand watch while the dragon rested.
When the sun rose, a fiery, purple ball low on the horizon, Totsuka touched Hashimoto's neck. “It's time to return.”
Hashimoto blinked, the usually golden pupils almost silver with sleep. “Already?” He yawned and shook his head, shaking off the remnants of his dream. “I dreamed I was human again,” Hashimoto said. “I don't miss dancing, but I wish I could hug you sometimes, you know, Tottsu?”
“I know,” Totsuka replied, and he did. He didn't mind the fighting, the danger, but it was sometimes hard to have Hashimoto so close and yet unreachable in some aspects.
