[team 2] untitled conman AU
A scene from a random conman Nino I never knew I wanted.
He stands at the corner of disbelief and indignance, where he waits impatiently for the next set of instructions. He's not eager to get them -- the first ones were already rude enough to question whether he was fit for the profession and farfetched enough that an involuntary smirk floats onto his face, the one he usually keeps to himself when his superiors talk to him, the one that usually translates to, "You can't be serious right now, but I know you are."
The next instructions come, tinny but clear in the implant against his eardrum. The synthetic membrane works well enough to emulate sound from his immediate surroundings, amplify and discern what's important and what's useless background noise that's just there to distract him from his mission. It hadn't been a painless procedure, but it did its job while he did his -- well, he might add, despite what the suits upstairs might think.
He steps into the crowd, an indetectable lifeform in the swell of a Friday night, and keeps his eyes trained on the next target. Tall, handsome, lots of money to be stolen. Nino hopes he can get home by midnight.
Your turn,
un_sanzo~
