[Team Two] '18 Bonnie and Clyde (or How to do a Complete 360 from being a Johnny)
Your turn
ayame_hadouken !
"I'll murder you." Hokku had said, his fists angrily twisted in the fabric of the club owner's shirt as he had been booted from yet another Roppongi club. Jesse had watched from a distance, coming up quietly at Hokku's signal. His fist made a 'thunk' noise as it made contact with the club owner's skull, knocking him unconscious to the ground. Hokku calmly unloaded two bullets into the man's body and walked away.
Jesse coughed, adjusting the sleeves of his suitcoat. He only wore all black, from his shoes to his jacket. He liked to melt into the shadows, letting Hokku don the flashier versions, with pinstripes and maroon ties, tackpins and silver.
He wasn't quite sure how they had slid down the chain of life so quickly.
But he honestly didn't give a shit as long as he had Hokku around.
---
It was a large controversy when they had left the entertainment world in their early twenties, eschewing the traditional paths of acting or university. They just grew sick of having to follow so many rules. Hokku had always bristled under the expectations of an idol- from the ban on getting caught with girls to the strict schedules.
Being hosts had made so much more sense to him. He was charming and his deep-lidded eyes suggested so much more to women, who would open their hearts and then their wallets to him. Down to even the last coin.
Jesse was a harder sell. He was gorgeous, with sharp cheekbones and well over six feet of lean muscle, but many women were intimidated by him and his sheer size. But the moment he smiled shyly and introduced himself while looking at the floor, the sky was the limit for how much he could make.
---
At first it was just sheer convenience that they did everything together, safety in numbers and making sure that they weren't screwed over by others. When you have a 6'3" man looming in the shadows with a frown on his face, people are bound to agree with what he wants. The host club owner didn't dare screw either of them over for fear of losing them both. They quickly became the top sellers.
But that was before the one night that began it all when they were all alone in the club after hours.
Jesse's mouth had crashed onto Hokku's hungrily, telling everything that he was too scared to say.
The slip of silk shirts on velvet lounges.
The panting gasps and fingers clenched.
The silent agreements and promises.
---
When boredom began to set in, Hokku searched for different avenues for profit.
This is how they landed in the deepest alleyways of Roppongi and Ginza, slamming heads against walls and shamelessly extorting money from any rich fool they could. It wasn't hard for them, and when a client threatened Hokku, Jesse instinctively shot him, his aim a bit too good.
But he didn't care.
They had tried to hurt Hokku.
---
Sometimes this life is hard.
Jesse has to keep himself in the shadows, his eyes on the crowd at all times.
But when his eyes land on Hokku, he knows that it's worth it.
