[Team Two] Bloody Hell
"Killer monkey?" Kitayama asked, unbelieving. "You're seriously telling me Tama-chan was kidnapped by an insane killer monkey?"
“That's what the witness said...” the messenger replied. “There were four of them. They left a letter for you.”
Kitayama cursed as he accepted the letter. The envelope was pink, sealed with a red rose wax seal.
“I've got your pet. I'll be waiting at our old meeting place.
PS: My minions are hungry, I doubt I can stop them once the moon rises.”
Spreading his white wings, Kitayama leaped into the air, dropping the letter. The crumpled paper burst into flames before hitting the ground, scorching the floor.
His strong wings ate the miles quickly, carrying him across the darkening sky.
Kitayama landed next to the lake, facing the forest. The shadows shifted, slowly taking the shape he knew so well. “Taisuke.”
“Kitayama,” the demon replied with a nod of his head.
“Let the kid go, Tama has nothing to do with this,” Kitayama said, not getting any closer.
Fujigaya smiled, his smile sweeter and happier than it had ever been when has was still an angel, only the slitted pupils breaking the illusion. “Play with me, Kitayama.”
“I'm not in the mood for games.” Kitayama licked his lips. “Taisuke, listen. It's not too late. I convinced them it was an accident. The amnesty is signed. You can come back, you and the others, if you just renounce your evil ways.”
“I drank his blood. It was so sweet.” Fujigaya smirked. “Your blood will be even sweeter, Kitayama.” Stepping out of the shadows, Fujigaya stretched his black wings.
Kitayama's sword appeared in his fist. “Stay back. I don't want to hurt you, but I will if I have to.”
“Really?” Fujigaya walked across the clearing, his pink eyes fixed on Kitayama. “You would hurt your lover?”
“You're not my lover,” Kitayama replied hotly, his sword shaking imperceptibly. “Not since you-”
“Fell?” Fujigaya suggested. “Murdered your best friend? Found true power?”
Fujigaya didn't stop until he stood right in front of Kitayama, the blade of Kitayama's sword touching his neck. Smoke drifted up from the place the holy weapon touched the demon's skin.
“It doesn't have to be this way,” Kitayama pleaded, even as Fujigaya casually swatted the sword aside to press his lips against Kitayama's. Kitayama's eyes fluttered shut, habit and desire winning over common sense and basic self-preservation. The sword was still in his hand, almost forgotten.
Fujigaya's arms wrapped around Kitayama and he pressed closer, never breaking the kiss. Slow and teasing, Fujigaya's fingers wandered up Kitayama's back, caressing, bringing back memories.
With a quick movement of his hands, Fujigaya broke Kitayama's right wing, the snap of bone loud in the silent night. Kitayama grunted in pain, his sword vanishing into the aether, along with his magic. His fist lashed out, punching Fujigaya square in the jaw.
Even as he crashed to the floor, Fujigaya laughed. “Got you.” Fujigaya rose to his feet, rubbing his sore jaw. His own magic would heal the injury quickly. “You angels are so easy. Now how are you going to save your pet, without magic?”
“Don't need magic to beat you,” Kitayama replied. “Fucking coward.”
The moon rose above the trees and a piercing shriek echoed through the night. “You can beat me, can you? Fast enough to safe Tama-chan from being eaten alive?”
Fujigaya caught Kitayama's next punch, his fingers closing around Kitayama's fist like a steel vice. Kitayama's left fist hit Fujigaya's stomach, but Fujigaya only grunted. “Nice try.”
Fujigaya's magic enhanced punch threw Kitayama to the floor. Gasping for breath as his broken wing impacted with the ground, Kitayama nevertheless rolled aside, avoiding Fujigaya's kick.
With a feral grin, Fujigaya pounced, pinning Kitayama to the ground. “Caught you.”
Kitayama struggled, but without magic he had no chance of throwing Fujigaya off. “Kill me, if you have to,” he ground out between clenched teeth, “but let Tama-chan go. It's me you want.”
“It's true I have no intention of touching Tama,” Fujigaya agreed, nuzzling Kitayama's neck. “But I promised my servants dinner, and I'm not one to break my promises.”
Kitayama laughed bitterly. “Liar.”
“You could join us,” Fujigaya suggested, shoving Kitayama's legs apart with his own. “I have influence, as my lover you could be a lieutenant in the army of the dark right away.”
“No,” Kitayama replied, struggling harder. Not that, not like this. “I'm not your lover, never again.”
“Are you sure?” Fujigaya rolled his hips against Kitayama's, reminding him of what they'd once shared.
“Burn,” Kitayama hissed. “Burn you to hell and back.”
“Too bad.” Fujigaya jumped to his feet. Bands of dark, pink magic wrapped around Kitayama's wrists, pulling his arms up above his head until only his toes touched the ground. “Together we would have been unstoppable.”
Another scream echoed through the night, followed by demonic laughter. “You could save your pet if you joined me,” Fujigaya said idly, conjuring up a sharp knife and a number of deep bottles.
“Get on with it, Fujigaya.”
“As you wish.” Fujigaya's knife flashed, opening Kitayama's right arm from wrist to elbow. Blood flowed freely from the wound, pulled by dark magic towards the bottles.
Moving slowly as if he had all the time in the world, Fujigaya walked around Kitayama and eyed his wings. Kitayama's broken right wing hung down, crooked and awkward, but his left wing was still perfect and pristine.
With a chuckle, Fujigaya wiped his knife across the white feathers of Kitayama's left wing, staining them red with Kitayama's blood. The colour vanished after only a moment, leaving the wing white and pure as before.
Grinning, Fujigaya trailed his fingers over the wing, searching for the perfect place. With a quick twist of his fingers, he broke it, earning a grunt from Kitayama.
“Lets see if I can make you scream,” Fujigaya murmured, inflicting five more breaks on Kitayama's left wing in quick succession. Kitayama shuddered, but made no more noise, his life blood draining from his arm.
Fujigaya plucked a feather out, which turned black as soon as it was removed from Kitayama's body. Cackling, Fujigaya kept plucking, the ground soon littered with black feathers.
“Aw, how boring.” Fujigaya moved to face Kitayama again. “Won't you beg for your life?”
Kitayama glared at him, weak from bloodloss but still proud.
“I was in love with you, before.” Fujigaya grinned at Kitayama's silence. “Never told you that while I could still feel love, did I?”
“I should have killed you when I had the chance,” Kitayama replied, his voice barely a whisper. “You're nothing but an empty shell. The Taisuke I knew and loved is dead.”
“Aw, Mitsu.” Fujigaya wrapped his arms around Kitayama, nuzzling his ear. He took a hold of Kitayama's earring with his teeth and yanked. Kitayama barely flinched.
After dropping the bloody earring into his pocket, Fujigaya licked at Kitayama's torn earlobe, finally tasting Kitayama's blood. “You taste so good.”
Kitayama ignored him, but that didn't bother Fujigaya. He kissed his way along Kitayama's yaw to his mouth.
"It's not too late," Fujigaya whispered, his breath ghosting over Kitayama's lips. "You can still join me in hell."
"Never." Kitayama fought the dizziness, feeling death approach ever closer. "Not even for you."
“We could be together forever, dark and glorious,” Fujigaya whispered. “Together, we could rule heaven and hell and all the worlds beside.”
Kitayama's eyes closed, and not long after the blood flowing freely from his arm trickled to a stop. His feathers started to shine, brighter than the moon, the glow spreading until his whole body was nothing but light. A gust of wind whipped through the night, carrying the light away over the lake, scattering it like dust into the water.
Fujigaya's eyes were dry. Demons are incapable of crying, not that they ever want to, yet his eyes followed the light until nothing was left but darkness. All that remained of Kitayama were a few bottles of blood, torn feathers on the ground, the bloody earring in Fujigaya's pocket and the heavy ache in Fujigaya's blackened soul.
