I've been wanting to write catboy!Fujigaya, but this is NOT the fic I was going for... Oh well, whatever, it can be the prequel or something.
~
His eyes gleam a bright amber, two pinpoints of light in the darkness of a winter evening. Even when he's mad at Yokoo for coming home late, Fujigaya's eyes are like signal lights, helping Yokoo locate him whether he's hidden under the sofa or perched on top of the bureau. (It's a lucky thing for Yokoo that Fujigaya has a tennen side and doesn't realize how brightly his eyes shine, just like real cats' eyes.)
Fujigaya is always sulky when Yokoo gets home after dark, which is a problem in the winter because it gets dark as early as 4 on the shortest of days, and there's nothing Yokoo can do about the rotation of the earth after all. He's tried explaining it to Fujigaya, and it's not like Fujigaya doesn't have a proper grasp of time and basic science, but there are some things that Fujigaya is just plain obstinate about.
"It's only 6:30," Yokoo says exasperated, flicking on the lights before narrowing his eyes at the bundle of leopard print blankets on the far corner of the couch. "I managed to catch the express train today and got home as quickly as I could."
There's no response. He doesn't really expect a response, not this quickly. He can't see the gleam of Fujigaya's eyes anymore with the lights on, but if he looks hard enough at the blanket fort, he can see a minute shifting movement which surely must be Fujigaya's tail twitching slightly under the pile of fabric.
"I even managed to find time to get waffles for dinner from that place you like in Ginza." Yokoo holds up a pink, neatly packaged takeout box. "Strawberries and cream topping?"
It's the most blatant of bribes. Yokoo is a good cook, and enjoys cooking, so their meals are almost always homemade and healthy. It's only when he wants especially to get on Fujigaya's good side that he treats the catboy to restaurant food.
The bundle at the end of the sofa shifts enough for Fujigaya's face to be visible, peering suspiciously up at Yokoo. "This isn't to apologize for coming home late... you never apologize for that."
"Because I'm not late, dumbass!" Yokoo's tone sounds harsh, but his eyes are crinkled in a smile as he reaches out to ruffle Fujigaya's hair. He pulls the coffee table closer to the couch and starts opening the box of waffles, inserting a plastic fork in Fujigaya's hand when he doesn't reach out to take it himself.
Fujigaya looks from Yokoo to the waffles and then back again. Finally, he sits up straight instead of lounging sloppily against the arm of the sofa, drawing his legs in against his chest and wrapping his tail around himself. "So then what for?"
"Actually..." Yokoo's starting to look a little guilty now. "See, the thing is... I'm going away on a last minute business trip this weekend."
Fujigaya wrinkles his nose. He likes to travel only when it's a proper vacation; business trips are all about efficiency rather than luxury, and Fujigaya hates being left alone all day in unfamiliar surroundings even more than he hates being left alone all day at home.
But he's going to hate what Yokoo has to tell him next even more.
"I can't take you with me."
"What!?" Fujigaya yowls, fur on his tail bristling and ears quivering in indignation. "You can't just leave me here all weekend!"
"I know," Yokoo stares soulfully at the sumptuous looking hill of whipped cream and strawberries still undisturbed on top of Fujigaya's waffle. He wishes Fujigaya had eaten a bite of it first, just as a sweetener. "I know I can't leave you alone all weekend, so... I asked Kitayama if you could stay at his place over the weekend."
"Kitayama." Fujigaya pronounces the name like it's a bad word, and flounces off the sofa in disgust.
With a despairing sigh, Yokoo shoves another bite of waffle into his mouth. He knows Fujigaya will obey and that Fujigaya and Kitayama will (just barely) refrain from killing each other over the weekend, but he also knows that he's going to have a lot of making up to do when he gets back.

Fujigaya shouldn't blame Yokoo for choosing Kitayama to take care of him, I guess Nisen are not an option in Yokoo's mind, Tama might accidentally kill him and Miyata could accidentally get killed. With Kitayama things will be balanced at least X°D (yeah, I don't even know if the others actually are in this AU lol)
Yokoo get ready for that making up, you'll need lot more... waffles u___u;;;

hahaha don't worry I'm sure Fuijgaya will think of some more ~interesting~ ways for Yokoo to make it up to him v_______v
