faded_lace today and B.I.Shadow feelings that I thought had died with Sexy Zone's debut all resurfaced and this is the first time I have written not!Yara in a very long time, so ??????

Softly, so as not to create a disturbance and annoy the staff at the photo shoot, Hokuto closes the door behind him and waits at the back of the room. He's done for a while - they did the other magazines earlier, and now there's a gap of an hour or so before they're due to be in a meeting. The moment he caught the make-up artist's assistant saying everyone in Sexy Zone in a fragment of overheard conversation was the moment he started planning his escape, his ten-minute break for freedom. Juri was called first for the solo shots, but then Hokuto was next, and the moment he was done he had excused himself and made a beeline for the studio down the hall. And here he is now: quietly avoiding attracting attention as best he can, and waiting while the photographer gives instructions and praise almost in the same breath, and the camera whirrs as the digital processor saves Fuma's image again, and again.
Fuma is trying to be sultry, and Hokuto is both amused and dazzled in the same instant; he's known Fuma for long enough to be more immune to than amazed by some things, but there's still that edge, still that dusting of awe-inspiring glitter that makes something in Hokuto's chest skip a little despite the rational part of his mind wryly telling him to see beyond the idol facade. The feeling lingers for long enough that Hokuto is distracted by it, and when Fuma looks up and directly over to him Hokuto is entirely unprepared for the genuine smile that lights up Fuma's face. He can't react in time - or so he thinks, but his face cracks into a smile of its own accord and then Fuma is there, right there in front of him and Hokuto wants to hug him, wants to pull him close, but he can't, he doesn't.
"Will you be free to grab dinner tonight?" Hokuto asks, and he honestly didn't know that was what he was going to say but the words are already out there - and, well, it's Fuma after all, so it's okay.
"If things don't overrun," is Fuma's reply, and he plunges his hands into his pockets and Hokuto grins, because Fuma does that when he doesn't want to hug him, and there are people watching. It's work. There are always people. "I'd love to. I'll mail you, okay?"
Hokuto nods. "Okay." He'd love to, and Hokuto knows it but hearing it is nice all the same. Okay. "I'll talk to you later, then?"
Fuma nods, and the light in his eyes sends sparks running through Hokuto's veins though his outward appearance betrays nothing (he hopes). "Yeah," Fuma says. "Later. Good luck with the rest of today, okay?"
Hokuto nods in return, reaching out to clap Fuma on the shoulder in a universal gesture of comradeship that means both nothing and way too much at once. "Sure, you too. Later."

Picturing this was so adorable, and I loved the way you phrased it, because I feel like after being such adorable giggly, giddy kids together, now, when they touch (like in magazine offshots or random moments on Shounen Club) it means so much more because it's so sparing, and I feel like you captured that perfectly here.
