[TEAM TWO] Sentimental
I somehow wrote this in like 5 minutes... I thought I was going to skip again. Surprise? :D
They were more than just skates, Nika thinks as he clings onto the old pair his mother almost threw out. Sure they were dirty and, if he were to be honest, maybe even a little smelly, but they were his very first pair. Definitely too small for him now. No one besides Senga knows that he still had these. Everyone knows that Nikaido can get a little sentimental at times, despite the cool front he tried to put up throughout his high school days, but even so, Fujigaya and the others would definitely laugh and call him and idiot for holding onto such a thing.
He fiddles with the skates in his hands. They're kind of dorky. Not sleek and cool like their recent pairs. Not as high tech as their LED pairs. Not as fashionable as their red, "Unmei Girl" skates. They're covered in scuff marks and scratches from falling, from the long rehearsals of trying to learn how to do anything other than stand in them.
Nikaido sighs and puts the skates back into his closet. He still doesn't understand why he had been placed in this group of misfits: a leader who started way too late, a member that got left behind, one who just couldn't seem to debut, an anime otaku, a boy who had conversations with objects, and a dance freak.He doesn't understand why they were forced to roller skate either. Thinking back, nothing made much sense, but it doesn't matter.
He leans back on his bed as a smile spreads across his face. He's happy with his ragtag team of misfits, happy with what they've become, even if he -is- currently being called "Busaiku" almost every day of his life.They've come a long way and Nikaido looks forward to what the future has in store for them. Hopefully it's a set of 7 equally embellished matching costumes.
