[Team Two] Winter Days

Happy New Year, Shiritoriland!!

Set around Christmas. Some of what is written here actually happened and was shown on the wide shows on the 25th of December. :)

The others probably wouldn’t let him hear the end of it until maybe Valentines Day - when Miyata would undoubtedly come up with something ridiculous - but Tamamori couldn’t care less right now. Miyata had come over to his place right after their shopping date and had handed over his presents and a cake to Tamamori’s family. They had had a pleasant Christmas Dinner with his mother laughing at Miyata’s lame jokes - probably out of politeness and then gone to soak in the tub before bed.

The next day Tamamori had gone to return the favour and spent the night at the Miyata Family residence, letting Miyata’s mother fuss over him. She’d also prepared all of his favourite food for dinner. And had even prepared a present for him in return.

While his mother had thought it funny of just putting a cute ribbon on his head and shoving him at Miyata - “There’s no better present I could give you, is there, Toshiya-kun?” - “Yup!” - Miyata’s parents had gone out of their way to buy him a branded lighter and then some accessories for the new additions to his dogs’ family.

“Your parents have better taste than you,” he teased Miyata when they were lying in bed together later that night. His expression softened. “They seriously shouldn’t have, though.”

“You’re family now. So it’s only normal for them to do it. Is what they think.” Miyata smiled and then chuckled softly. “Also, I’m sure my mum is super into you. Since I can’t be the prince-like type in the family, you’ve become the stand-in of sorts?”

Tamamori made a face and rolled over. “You make things sound gross.” He shoved at Miyata. “Gross.” He shoved again until the other moved over as well and he could sidle up against Miyata’s side more comfortably. “Let’s sleep. We have to get up super early tomorrow for work.” Letting out a soft puff of air, Tamamori closed his eyes. He hoped Sendai and Sapporo wouldn’t be too cold. Although it would be cool to have snow in Sapporo, he guessed.

A small grin tugged up the corners of his lips. If they did have snow, he’d totally have to own Miyata’s ass in a snowball fight. Oh yes.

His happy mood lasted until morning even, when Miyata’s mother woke them up and they both got picked up at Miyata’s house by the car that dropped them off at Tokyo Station. There’s a camera team waiting for them at the station but Tamamori forgot the whole ‘I am a cool idol thing’ because Miyata’s there with him and he’s relaxed and happy still and thus ended up just being himself (he’d regret it later of course, as always).

Sendai passed by in a flash and they got hauled off to Sapporo. Tamamori enjoyed the gyudon bento they got as a present - and stole a piece or two from Miyata while he’s at it.

When they pulled into Sapporo, the landscape outside the train window is white and Tamamori felt a certain giddiness build up inside of him. Snow. There was snow. He could have a snowball fight with Miyata later!!

All the stops and events in Sapporo flew by and Tamamori found himself surprised at just how fast time passed. Usually time went by agonizingly slow when you were looking forward to something but not so this time. There was still a camera team with them but he didn’t pay them any heed - or well mostly - when he and Miyata started to mess around.

It’s a small snowball fight but it’s a snowball fight nevertheless. Tamamori laughed happily and avoided Miyata’s badly aimed shots with ease. In the end he creamed the other’s face with a handful of freshly fallen, powdery snow. A part of him was feeling cold - they had changed out of their own clothes into their Thank You Jyan outfits - but the fun outweighs the cold, at least for a couple of minutes. Tamamori was laughing from the heart and it felt so good to do it.

The camera team finally leaves them as they made their way back to Tokyo. Tamamori leaned as close against Miyata as he dared with other people around. Before he nodded off, he muttered softly to the other, “You’re coming over tonight, right? My place. Just us.”

“You’re not expecting me to say ‘no’ to that, are you?” Miyata asked.

“Nh, ‘t wasn’t a question, yeah.” Tamamori smiled and then let himself drift off to sleep.
