[team one] traditions
i said i won't continue haneul fic. that doesn't mean i can't rewrite it and/or write jongdae/liyin/haneul as a family *^*
traditions, liyin/jongdae, g, 415 words because i am losing my mojo
"Stories don't really have an ending, do they, appa?" Haneul asks after she slams her book shut and deposits it on her bedside table. "There's always another episode of Teletubbies. And Dora always has another adventure."
"That's right," Jongdae agrees. He's too tired to discuss this with her, and hopes that she would settle down instead of pondering over such an impossible thought. He's just had a whole day of recordings, and managed to sneak home to tuck Haneul into bed and read her a story. Liyin teases that he's spoiling her, but he's mainly doing this for himself – he gets antsy when he's away from Haneul for too long.
"Olaf will keep singing about warm hugs, and Elsa will keep making snowflakes!" She tosses her hands up in the air.
"And Haneul will wake up tomorrow and go to the park with Jihyuk!" Jongdae adds, pulling her blanket up to her chin in a desperate bid to get her to settle down.
But she sticks her hands out of it again. "We're gonna build sandcastles!" She says. "Mama says she's gonna make bao!"
Jongdae's about to gently slide her hands back in when the door creaks open and Liyin pokes her head into the room.
"But mama can't make them if you wake up late," she says. Haneul stills, becoming obedient at the prospect of not getting her favourite steamed red bean buns, and Jongdae wants nothing more than to kiss Liyin.
So he does, pecking her on the cheek as she sits on Haneul's bed. She smooths Haneul's hair on her forehead, then leans down to kiss it. "Be a good girl for me in dreamland?"
"I will," Haneul promises, her voice serious as though entrusted with an important task.
"Good girl," Jongdae says, kissing her as well. He watches her shift around under her blankets for a moment, then closes the door behind him after she's stilled.
Liyin's smirking when he turns to face her.
"Cough up the dough, buddy," she says, holding out her hand. "Twenty thousand won, plus that fifty thousand for me coming to your rescue."
Jongdae huffs. "I had everything under control. I didn't even call for you."
Liyin's hand is still outstretched.
"Fine." Jongdae pulls out his wallet and hands his wife the money. "You don't even need this. You have my credit card."
Liyin pats him on the cheek. "Well, you started this little tradition, darling. I'm just keeping it alive."
you're next,
