It's not like Shintarou is the king of subtlety either, as Hokuto (and Juri and Taiga and Yasui and Reia) all like to point out to him. Days like this, when Shintarou watches Hokuto all through practice, hovers just at the edges of Hokuto's vision like a nervous bumblebee, asks to borrow the hairdryer when his hair isn't even wet, it's pretty obvious what he wants.
Today, in a sporting mood, Hokuto has decided to do nothing except for smile encouragingly, just to see how long Shintarou will go before he cracks.
Taiga, on the other hand, is nothing like that. When Taiga wants Hokuto, he sees no problem with strolling right up to him and asking if he wants to go do it or what. Aside from all the sex, which Hokuto enjoys more than well enough, sometimes what really gets him going is the contrast between the two, how Shintarou looks so tough but is happiest being ordered around, while delicate-looking Taiga will kick Hokuto out of bed for so much as one wrong hair-yank.
When practice is winding down and Shintarou still hasn't said anything though, Hokuto pushes the game just a little further. He stands a little too close in front of Shintarou, looking him right in the eye and making Shintarou stumble over his words. When Shintarou backs up a little, Hokuto follows smoothly, until Shintarou bumps into the mirror, hissing at the cold glass against his back.
"Hokku?" Shintarou asks.
"Hmm?" Hokuto replies, looking up at Shintarou through his eyelashes and wondering if truly Shintarou can't bring himself to ask for what he plainly wants. He decides he can help out just a little. "Something you want? From me?"
Shintarou opens his mouth, but before any words come out, a weight lands against Hokuto's back, driving out his breath in a small whuff.
"Oi," Taiga says, mouth right against the edge of Hokuto's ear. "You busy?"
"Mm." Hokuto watches Shintarou's mouth bunch in mild irritation. He wants to reach up and smooth Shintarou's lower lip with his thumb, coax Shintarou into licking it. "M'not sure."
"Whoever it is, make an excuse," Taiga tells him, the order casual, making Hokuto's skin prickle in interest. "I want attention, so let's go already."
Shintarou's eyes darken with something, jealousy or want, Hokuto isn't sure, but suddenly he has an idea. An amazing idea.
"Okay, yeah, have fun, I'll just—" Shintarou starts edging to the side, clearly about to escape, but Hokuto puts a stop to that by slapping a palm firmly against the mirror. Shintarou's eyes go wide, Adam's apple bobbing as he swallows.
"Did you even just kabedon him?" Taiga asks, voice amused like that's the cutest thing he's seen all day. "Pfffffft."

Rather than explain, Hokuto steps out from between them neatly. Taiga trips a half-step forward, more of his weight resting on Hokuto than he'd thought, but Shintarou catches him easily, his hands looking even bigger when they're wrapped around Taiga's thin arms. Both of them are giving Hokuto a dirty look, hilariously synchronized, and Hokuto feels like he has dozens of possibilities stretching out in front of him, tantalizingly close.
"Fuck yes," he says, almost under his breath. "Seriously how have you two never done it before? Please say yes. Please," he adds, giving it just a little bit of submission, making his eyes just a little bigger as he looks to Taiga for approval.
