[Team One] First day of September

A/N: HELLO I'M LATE and i also wrote wild heroes fic HAH. Disclaimer!!: i watch this drama without subs, i speak as good japanese as your average flower pot and i have no proof whatsoever that this was how Kiibo and Tagawa-san met. I just enjoy pretty boys and writing about them.

Happy days of summer had turned into schoolwork filled days of September. The weather hadn’t got the note of summer ending and another stressful autumn starting – it was still hot even hours after the sun had set.

When Tagawa Hayato walked out of the gates of his new school it was exactly that kind of evening, still as hot as in the middle of summer even though it had already turned dark. Transferring to a new school had been a pain in the ass with all the talks with different teachers, trying to learn people’s names, quickly learn who were friends and who hated each other. All this while not being genuinely interested in anything the people around him were telling him.

Suddenly someone (or something, it seemed almost too fast to be human) ran around the corner, crashing into Hayato so that they almost tumbled down. In an attempt to stop them from falling, Hayato wrapped his arms around the person. It did work, but it didn’t manage to make Hayato feel any less confused about the situation.

“Oh, sorry! Totally didn’t see you there,” the stranger said cheerfully, and with that Hayato let go of him and stepped back, feeling flustered and unsure of what to say.

The other boy didn’t seem to mind at all. He was a bit taller than Hayato, with dyed hair and a round face that was currently lightened up by a wide smile. Hayato noticed he was wearing his new school’s uniform at the same moment another boy ran around the same corner. The new boy ran in a significantly less carefree style so he was able to stop before crashing into anyone.

“Kiibo, what are you doing? We’ll be late,” the new boy said, stepping onto the blond boy’s left side like that was the most natural place for him to be.

The nickname, dyed hair, uniform worn in a nonchalant way, with the jacket open and a t-shirt showing from underneath it, and now the taller boy standing next to him, arms crossed… It didn’t take Hayato long to figure out what kind of people the two were.

“Sorry, sorry. I got carried away and almost knocked this guy over,” the blond one, Kiibo, said, nodding into Hayato’s direction.

“Sorry once again. Let’s go, Mikki!”

Mikki glanced at Hayato, apparently judging him not worthy for any more of their time, since he only nodded briefly before walking past him with Kiibo.

It was kinda funny how little the two had changed after their high school days, Hayato thought years later when he had stopped being Hayato long ago and become Tagawa-san instead. Hayato had disappeared somewhere far, far away, but he knew for sure that Kiibo and Mikki would never change.
