[Team SONIC] Downfall
Starting word from here.
"Take a seat the table," the secretary — Liyin, he knew her name to be — said quietly, gesturing to the round table in the middle of the room. "The CEO will be with you shortly."
Jongdae smiled and thanked her, and watched as she quickly bowed and made her way out of the room to inform her boss that he had arrived.
He wondered what she would after today, after she heard the news that he would first deliver to her boss. She had been the first employee to come forward with information, the one employee he worked with the most of compile evidence for the case report, and he found himself particularly concerned with her affairs.
But he knew there was little use worrying about it: first, he needed to deliver the announcement to the CEO.
He looked around the room to distract himself. It wasn't a particularly large room: it held a round meeting table just large enough to seat five — maybe six, at a squeeze — people and barely enough room to move around in. It would suit this meeting just fine — Jongdae didn't plan on moving around at all. If everything went according to plan, he wouldn't even be here for a very long time.
The CEO entered not long after him, and for the briefest of moments, Jongdae felt a flicker of sympathy for the other man. He had not come bearing good news and both of them knew that. Even through the mask of professionalism the CEO was wearing, Jongdae could sense the anxiety behind the CEO's movements.
"Would you like to take a seat, Inspector Kim?" the CEO asked, moving forward to pull out a seat. "I am sure there is much that needs to be discussed. My secretary will be along in a moment with refreshements."
"On the contrary, CEO Wu," Jongdae said, making no move to take the seat, "I do not plan to take very long. I just have an announcement from the Board of Directors for you, so I'll get straight to the point."
At that, CEO Wu — soon to no longer be CEO Wu — closed his eyes, as if accepting his fate.
"CEO Yifan Wu, you have been found guilty on two charges: of embezzlement from the company funds, and bribing employees to buy their silence on the matter," Jongdae announced, reciting the words that had been printed at the top of the now closed case file on his desk. "As such, you have been removed from you position asone of the Chief Executive Officers of this company, as voted by the Board of Directors, effective from 3pm today. You have been given two hours to pack and remove your personal effects from your office, and this will be supervised by your secretary, Miss Liyin Zhang, who has already been instructed on the details."
