writetomyheart | [Team Two] The Situation in Yamada's Bathtub

I put on an anime the other day while cleaning about a merman living in someone's bathroom. Naturally, I had to Yamajima-ify it.

He is so, SO dead.

Yuto fidgets, but that only causes even more water to slosh over the edges. It seeps onto the floor and out the crack underneath the door while he watches with a sinking heart.

He is so dead.

There’s still a thin layer of water left in the bathtub but Yuto’s too scared to refill it — he’s been told over and over again the direness of their financial situation. So he just hunches there in the bath while his body temperature cools and his scales dry out, dreading the moment he gets discovered.

He’s still got his head in his arms when the door opens some time later.

“Tadaima,” Yamada says, shutting the door behind him.

“Okaeri,” Yuto says to his knees.

There’s a clatter as Yamada reaches for the mop and bucket propped up in the corner of the bathroom. “What happened?”

Yuto can’t help but let out a wail as he finally looks up. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to!” he babbles, thrashing about in what’s left of the water. “I got excited over a program on the television and then the next thing I knew all the water came out. I didn’t mean to waste water! If you want to send me back to the ocean I understand.” As a merman Yuto often feels useless in this tiny bathtub. He’s unable to work, unable to even help Yamada around the house since it only takes about five minutes out of water before his skin starts drying up. If he were a better person he’d make Yamada take him back already, but the truth is, he likes it here. A lot.

Yamada sighs and begins to mop the floor. “I’m not sending you back to the ocean.”

even in merman form yuto is adorable, so it's not really a surprise yama-chan's so nice to him :)

(i was thinking which anime/manga has a merman in it but all I could come up were horror mangas so i'm happy you wrote something really cute :3)

Ooh it's Orenchi no Furo Jijou! More of a TV short than a full fledged anime but I really enjoyed it. Super bad with horror anything orz >_<

I love this. YUTO THE MERMAN. This is an excellent idea. (I was gonna ask which anime this is, but I see you answered that in another comment ^^)

Yuto lives in Yamada's tiny bathtub and gets overly excited about TV shows. And Yamada's mop is already in the bathroom because apparently this happens often. LOL

I TOTALLY RECOMMEND IT it's so funny. it's really short but I think they did a great job with what small amount of time there is in each episode. Holding out for a second season;; or that I can read the manga when in Japan.

Yuto is sometimes a boy trapped in a (hot) man's body. I don't know what to do with him, his flaily way of being pierces right through my heart.

You really should :D Orenchi no Furo Jijou. It's really short, but hopefully there'll be a second season. In the meantime imma hunt down some manga.
