[team sonic] toaster
First words from Day and Night.

Hearts melt all over again, dripping over the side of the bathtub, red and bubbles on the floor. Taehyung lifts his hand to his eyes, wiggles his fingers. The skin is pruney, wet wrinkles and the elasticity soaked out by the water. He blinks. His fingers are red.
"Am I bleeding?" he asks no one in particular, because no one is listening. There's shouting somewhere in the house, but he can't make out the words, though it doesn't matter much anyway.
There's a buzzing on the floor, Taehyung darts a tongue out to lick at the wet skin of his hand. It doesn't taste like rust, but just soap, burning on his tongue. He makes a face.
The phone keeps buzzing, as he sinks below the surface of the water, eyes wide and stinging. The ceiling of the bathroom is blurred, his eyes tearing underwater. How long can you last?
Not long enough.
Strong hands drag him out of the water; Taehyung can't see who it is because his eyes are burning, and water pours into his eyes, rinsing out the fire.
"Stop," he sputters finally, when all that's left of him is melted skin, the tattered fragments of his heart.
"What are you doing?" a familiar voice says, and Taehyung sits, quiet, as a towel dabs at his eyes, wraps around his shoulders as he sits onthe sodden bath mat that squelches as he moves.
"My heart was bleeding," Taehyung says, even though it doesn't make sense, because he knows that Jimin will understand. "I needed to wash the red off my skin."
Warm arms wrap around his shoulders, and Taehyung nuzzles his face into the warm dry fabric of Jimin's shirt.
"Next time, call me," Jimin says, instead of yelling at him or blaming him for everthing that goes wrong in the house. Taehyung nods, quiet. He knows Jimin understands, in a way that his words can't explain.
