[team two] love in seoul

This is the very beginning of a longer AU fic of mine! I'll probably try to write the whole thing in these kind of little pieces. 8) Suho might fall in love with someone special later.

Things will be okay, Junmyeon absently thought, maybe more like trying to assure himself as he walked through the crowd.

He stepped outside the subway station and placed his luggage on the ground, taking a deep breath and gathering fresh air as much as possible inside his lungs. It was Seoul's air, and Junmyeon swore even the air there was all different from Daegu's. He could actually breathe, he was relieved and he was free. It felt like the air held some magical atmosphere, almost like already convincing or gently consolling Junmyeon he'd find the new life from there and someday he'd be happy again.

The vague moment of insecurity was gone although on the train ride he had still thought about her quickly. Nothing special, nothing too specific but he had simply caught himself thinking what she was doing on that moment and whether she was thinking of him too.

Junmyeon had gone to meet her on his last day in Daegu, in order to just say goodbye to her but the meeting had ended too quickly as her new boyfriend had opened the door and asked with an irritated tone what the hell Junmyeon was doing there.

Maybe Junmyeon had secretly been hoping, hoping that she would change her mind and take Junmyeon back after hearing that Junmyeon would be leaving the city and wasn't planning to come back any time soon. But everything that Junmyeon had got from the visit was an evil-looking bruise on the corner of his eye as the guy had hit him hard, telling that Junmyeon wasn't welcome in their home and had shut the door with a bang.

Junmyeon had never liked the man – hitting him, humilitating him like that and dating his girl had nothing to do with that but he had just never liked the aura that guy had around him.

His girl, Junmyeon repeated inside his head and for a short moment the woe surrounded him again but he forced himself and shook it quickly off. In the end, she seemed to be happy with him, and it was everything Junmyeon could wish for her. Junmyeon himself had a new life in Seoul now and maybe someday, someday he'd get over her and maybe eventually find someone he could love and by whom he could be loved in return.

It wasn't only air, everything in Seoul looked and felt different.

People had looked busy as Junmyeon had walked through the central railway station, they had kept walking in huge masses and it was comforting that Junmyeon could be anyone he wanted to, no-one around him had a preconceptions about him. Despite the haste around him Junmyeon had already been able tell people in Seoul were more friendly, more open and more accepting than those people in Daegu who occasionally were so narrow-minded and straight-laced, tending to judge other people by their looks or something frivolous like that.

Junmyeon believed his new work would offer him new friends and he could enjoy working again. Last months in his previous work he had gone through in some kind of haze, he could hardly remember things as he had put all his energy into fixing their relationship which had actually been so good, so wonderful in the beginning. She and Junmyeon had shared personalities, they had always liked the same things and had shared a group of friends.

Even that day Junmyeon couldn't simply understand why she had thought being similar with their partner was such a bad thing in a relationship since he had always believed the opposite.

”Junmyeon,” she had said with a saddened tone, ”You need someone different from me. Different from yourself. Someone who you can't even think of right now. But you will understand once you meet that person.”

****

As he was in the middle of crossing the street there was a sound of a coming message and Junmyeon tried to fish his phone from his shoulder bag with one hand, while he was carrying his smallish suitcase with another. Junmyeon guessed it could be his friend Minho, asking Junmyeon if he already arrived safely in Seoul. The guy couldn't yet stop worrying although Junmyeon had assured him he would be alright, things would be alright, and when seeing the last time Junmyeon had gently reminded Minho how they probably couldn't keep up with their usual frequent pace of contacting each other.

Old habits didn't die too quickly, it seemed. And in a way, Junmyeon never stopped appreciating Minho caring so much for him.

Junmyeon cursed quietly to himself as he couldn't locate the phone with his hand although the beeping sound kept still going on, and he could actually feel the vibration against the sparerib through the material of the bag.

Junmyeon sighed and stopped for a second, peeking inside the bag.

All of a sudden there was a loud sound of metal scraping along the road.

It sounded like an old train was breaking and exploding into pieces as the screeching sound filled Junmyeon's all senses before he realised he was flying, flying somewhere high and far.

And suddenly everything went black.

*****

At first the sounds felt like coming from somewhere very far, like echoing in Junmyeon's ears.

”We are in a big trouble! Big big trouble!”

”Shut up, stop repeating that already!”

Junmyeon couldn't recognize those voices. The voices definitely belonged to some male people but neither sound like his brother or his father so Junmyeon obscurely figured out he wasn't at his parents' place.

”Sehun, he almost got killed!”

”I fucking know that, now shut up!”

Who is Sehun?

Junmyeon tried to open his eyes but everything hurt, the bright light truly hurt his eyes and made him realize his head felt heavier than it had ever felt before. Junmyeon closed his eyes again and tried to move his hand but it didn't feel any lighter than his head, yet at least he could weakly raise his index finger. He mentally took a stock of his other parts, discovering which parts he could move and which not.

Gradually Junmyeon realized that he was in a hospital, of course. That must have been the case. What had happened? Had he been in some surgery? Or, Junmyeon mentally gulped, had he been into some kind of an accident? Junmyeon tried his best to remember where he had been last time but he couldn't tell.

The other voice continued, sounding slightly panicked. ”He'll spill the beans and will tell the press, it's going to be the end of our ca--”

”Tao, now shut up! We've got this.”

”He's not even awake yet! How can you know he's not dead? That wasn't just a small hit he got on his head, even I can tell that!”

”Thank you very much for that information, doctor.”

Doctor. So Junmyeon indeed was in a hospital then. He felt relieved, though. If there was a doctor in the room Junmyeon must have been in good hands and if he was able to follow the conversation of those people that clearly it meant he wasn't that badly injured either. Maybe he should tell them that he was awake already?

”Well, it's not like you checked him when he was lying there on the road, did you?” the doctor's voice continued.

”No, if you happen to remember we were a bit hurried in that moment.”

”Check him!”

”No way!”

”Check him, what if he hit his head so hard he got a concussion and died on the way?”

”Bullshit.”

”Check him!” doctor's voice shrieked.

Junmyeon wanted to cry out in fear as a slank dark figure leaned over him even though the reaction was stupid because the owner of that figure was probably a nurse or something. Of course it must be a nurse, Junmyeon thought logically. He just couldn't help feeling scared and vulnerable by just lying there motionless.

”Hey,” the low voice said, demanding and not friendly at all. ”Wake up.”

Maybe I should try again, waking up, Junmyeon thought.

”Wake up, dude. Wake up.” The person nudged Junmyeon's side.

Junmyeon opened his other eye slowly, surprised to realize that this time his vision was clear. But he wasn't greeted by a clinical white roof which hospitals usually had but there was a crystal chandelier hanging above him. Junmyeon opened his eyes fully and from the corner of them he could tell he wasn't in a hospital at all or if it was, it must have been the most non-typical-hospital-looking hospital he had ever seen.

Junmyeon couldn't be confused by this fact for any longer as he met the face of the person next to him. And that definitely wasn't a nurse. It was a tall man maybe in his twenties with a dark brown hair whose dark eyebrows were framing his perfectly shaped face. His eyebrows were furrowed in annoyance as he looked straight at Junmyeon.

For a moment no-one said anything before the docto-- other person's voice in the background broke the silence.

”So, he's alive!”

The back of his head was aching like no tomorrow and Junmyeon's voice was hoarse as ever when he slowly opened his mouth to ask: ”Where am I? Who are you?”

The man next to him said nothing for a good moment as if he was picking the right words to say. ”Look, I have something to tell you and you listen to me very carefully now and do everything that I say or I'll make damn sure no-one hears from you ever again.”

Junmyeon couldn't understand a word.

The guy looked even more annoyed. ”You vow that you won't talk about this. To anyone. Ever.”

Just what?
