I don't know what this is, but I know I was almost late. :(
“We’ll talk afterwards,” her mum had snapped in the car.
She had tucked down her head, inwardly seething. It wasn’t her fault that the notes had been passed in class. It wasn’t her fault things had got out of hand. It wasn’t her fault they’d all ended up in detention. It wasn’t.
She had raced out of the car once they’d arrived home, and, although her mum had told her, although she knew she’d be told off and grounded, run up to the roof area, standing and staring out at the world.
She breathed in the fresh air, watched the beautiful sun set over the horizon, and knew she had to face the music.
(It wasn’t as bad as she’d thought it was going to be.)
